Gwithian Holidays is designed for you to live in, not just stay in. The bedrooms have comfortable mattresses and pillows and the living areas are all designed for comfort as well as practicality. There is a TV and DVD player for entertainment as well as central heating to keep you warm as the days get shorter.
The kitchens are fully equipped with proper ovens, dishwashers, and all the equipment you could possibly need. Wi-Fi is provided free of charge for all guests. There is a laundry room available for you to use, with washing machine and tumble dryer. Outside, there is a spacious garden where you can have a barbecue for your dinner or just sit back and relax with a book.
Tyson has been surfing for 26 years and is a former competitive surfer. He is a Level 4 surf coach and ASI Trainer Assessor. He has been coaching for 12 years.
Ian has been surfing for over 15 years. He is one of the most experienced surf coaches in Britain and has loads of knowledge to pass on to his students. He is an ASI level 3 surf instructor.
This surf camp will take place at Gwithian Holidays situated in the center of Gwithian village surrounded by a gorgeous old church, a restored Methodist chapel, picturesque cottages, and plenty of fields. The beach is just a few minutes' walk away and seems to be where most of the guests spend a lot of their time.
Just a few miles inland, there is the town of Hayle which offers a good choice of pubs and places to eat and a few miles further lies the popular harbor town of St Ives with its countless cafes, bars, and restaurants.
At Giwithian Holidays, you can have breakfast for 5 GBP. The breakfast will include bread, eggs, orange juice, cereal, and tea or coffee. You’ll have to toast the bread, boil the kettle, and cook the eggs yourself. If you don’t fancy cooking after a day of surfing, the Red River Inn is 200 yards away offering excellent food and a wide selection of ales and beers from around the world.
You can book your own flight and arrive at Cornwall Airport Newquay (NQY). It is the nearest airport with only a 45-minute drive away. Gwithian Academy of Surfing can arrange transfer from the airport at an extra cost. Exeter International Airport (EXT) and Bristol Airport (BRS) also provide some international services, 2 hours and 3 hours away respectively.
Gwithian is within easy reach of Redruth, Camborne, and Hayle train stations. All of which are a short taxi ride away and have good connections with the rest of the UK rail network. Gwithian Academy of Surfing can arrange transfer from Hayle train station at an extra cost.
