The Beach villa brings outdoor nature into the rooms, Golden Waves Surf Lodge used the warmest organic material in their craftsmanship which is raw wood. Sustainability never looked better. You can feel the creativity and love we put into this magic place. Lounge area with a king-size sofa in front of the fireplace and an extra-long dining table invites you to share good times together. Each room is individually decorated for you to feel home away from home. The beautiful garden is blessed with old pine trees and reflects the special tranquility of the natural surrounding. You will instantly feel at peace. Enjoy the outdoor swimming pool and tennis / football court.
You can choose between a premium shared bedroom, single suites, romantic double rooms, or spacious family suites all with garden views.
To guarantee your best sleep after a day of surf, yoga and nature, high-quality comfort mattresses and superior bed linen will be provided. Plenty of storage space and personal safes for each guest. Your room will be soundproof and have central heating as well as blackout curtains. Guests can use the common kitchen area to prepare their own meals, as well as the outdoor barbecue facilities. Several local restaurants are available within a 5-minute walk from the lodge, serving typical Portuguese meals and international dishes.

You will arrive at Furadouro, a virgin beach paradise at one of Portugal’s most secret surf destinations, just 30 kilometers south of Porto. Enjoy the stylish eco-resort with a zen garden and pool area, surrounded by endless white beaches and green pine forests. Collect forever travel memories and discover cultural treasures in Porto, Aveiro, and Ovar. Find fluidity in life and surf. The best surfer is the one having the most fun.
The more time you spend in the water, the better you get. This is why Golden Waves do not rush the guests with their learning and ends surf sessions when everybody comes out happy. Furadouro is a beginner-friendly beach, you can surf in the mellow waves of Cortegaça, in funny beach breaks of Esmoriz, or on the famous right-handers of Espinho, so just grab your board. You will enjoy five surf sessions with licensed local Instructors Sergio, Alex and Ricardo.
Beginner
A step-by-step introduction to the art of surfing. They will show you how to understand the ocean and you will experience your first contact with the water and its energy. The surf instructors will be your reliable buddies and help you to gain confidence. Of course, you will ride your first wave and get an idea of this passion only a surfer can know.

Instructors
Sergio da Silva
Sergio is the founder of the Golden Waves Surf Lodge, your host and surf instructor during your holidays. He turned his vision into reality with this project, combining surf and yoga lifestyle with sustainable tourism and creativity. Since he grew up in Porto and by the coast, Sergio knows and loves the ocean, culture, and environment inside out. As a very talented surfer and world traveler, he is constantly on the search for challenging waves and endless barrels.
Ricardo Guedes
Ricardo is an ever-smiling waterman for sure. He loves to transmit his passion and joy for the ocean and you will feel in best hands and train in safety. Apart from being a brave surfer himself, he says "the best surfer is the one having most fun in the water", and this is what you can expect when progressing with Ricardo.
Location
Your surf camp will take place in Furadouro, Portugal. Just 30 kilometers from Porto by the coast is Furadouro, a picturesque seaside village nestled between endless beaches, the nature park of Maceda Pine Forest, and the Lagoon Ria de Aveiro.
The lodge is perfect for surfers as it is just a short walk to the spot Praia da Furadouro with uncrowded peaks and a great base for exploring excellent waves around. Within a stretch of 15 kilometers of coastline, there are more than 25 waves to be surfed. Bring body and mind together. Embraced by the tranquility of the Zen garden, surrounded by lush pine trees. While the birds are singing in the pine trees enjoy a relaxing yin yoga session (15€) in our beautiful yoga studio. The perfect combination, Ocean and Earth.
All year around this location receives swells, pleasant water temperatures, and 300 days of sunshine. Surf for every level, each swell and wind directions, there is always an option. The historic center has cafes, bars, nightlife superb restaurants and all you need for your catering.

Known as the Portuguese Venice and a must-see in our region. Jump on a moliceiro and cross the river channels, watch the art nouveau houses and try ovos moles. Don’t leave them without having experienced this special place.
Ovar
One of the best places to see Portuguese tiles and the nationwide famous Carnaval. Just behind the Lodge!
Furadouro
Furadouro is a lively seaside village with a charming historic center. You will find superb local restaurants that serve Portuguese and International dishes for great prices. Cozy cafés, fancy beach bars, delicious ice cream parlors, and sparkling nightlife. It is all just a stone’s throw away.
Ria De Aveiro
In the Province Ovar everything lives around these 47 km of water parallel to the sea. A network of canals and islands, its waters are home to Flamingos and heaps of rare bird species.

True masterpieces of tile painting art and one of the most impressive churches in Portugal. At sunset they are particularly beautiful, bathed in sunlight. Golden temples that shine in fantastic multi-colors, framed by majestic palm trees.
Santa Maria Da Feira
Historical medieval town hosting one of the most beautiful castles in Portugal. A visit inside the stone walls and the fantastic views are worth it all year round. Every year in August streets are filled with knights, merchants, fire eaters, and jugglers when the Feira da Medieval takes place.
