The beautiful garden is blessed with old pine trees and reflects the special tranquility of the natural surroundings. The common kitchen is all yours, fully equipped and ready to use. It has a lot of space, enough for everybody to share some classic cooking sessions together. Join the outdoor barbecue facilities. Several local restaurants are available within a five-minute walk from the lodge, serving typical Portuguese meals, and international dishes. The accommodation is 500 meters to the beach and is 30 minutes from UNESCO World Heritage, Porto.

You can choose between a premium shared bedroom (shared with 4 to 6 persons), single suites, romantic double rooms, or spacious family suites all with garden views. A personalized sound system is in every room to connect electronic devices and color lighting allows you to create individual ambiance however you feel like. Plenty of storage space in the wardrobe and personal safes for each guest. Your room will be soundproof and have central heating and blackout curtains. In the evening you will relax and deepen your flexibility with fulfilling Restorative Yin yoga sessions. Golden Waves Surf Lodge Portugal has teamed up with internationally renowned yoga instructors, to connect their magic yoga style with the inspiring life by the Atlantic Ocean.
Beginner
This is a step-by-step introduction to the art of surfing. You will be shown how to understand the ocean and you will experience the first contact with the water and its energy. The surf instructors will be your reliable buddies and help you to gain confidence. Of course, you will ride your first wave and get an idea of this passion only a surfer can know.
Intermediate
The intermediate course helps you to improve your surf skills. You will build up surf fitness, increase your amount of catching waves and focus on your ocean awareness. Learn new techniques and improve old habits. Develop your own style and flow.
Your charming yoga Instructors will soothe your surfed-out body in the evenings in their guided Restorative Yin Relax and Recover practices before sunset.
Relax completely in the tasteful indoor yoga lounge.
The time between yoga can be filled with ocean walks on kilometers of empty wild beaches, free bike riding on Portugal's best bike trail network, professional deep tissue massages a huge treasure of culture to explore, enjoy delicious Portuguese food or simply sunbathing at the outdoor pool area with sun beds, shower, and restrooms.

Sergio da Silva
Sergio is the founder of the Golden Waves Surf Lodge, your host and surf instructor during your holidays. He turned his vision into reality with this project, combining surf and yoga lifestyle with sustainable tourism and creativity. Since he grew up in Porto and by the coast, Sergio knows and loves the ocean, culture, and environment inside out. As a very talented surfer and world traveler, he is constantly on the search for challenging waves and endless barrels.
Ricardo Guedes
Ricardo is an ever-smiling waterman for sure. He loves to transmit his passion and joy for the ocean and you will feel in best hands and train in safety. Apart from being a brave surfer himself, he says "the best surfer is the one having most fun in the water", and this is what you can expect when progressing with Ricardo.
Isabel Arbelaez
Isabel from Colombia, lives and breathes Yoga. For over 10 years she practiced an engaged yogi lifestyle. Her teaching styles are Hatha, Vinyasa and Yin Yoga. Being your guide, she will share her experiences with you and help to translate the studies of yoga for your own daily life. Take a ride to your inner self, learn new breathing techniques, deepen your yoga philosophy, dive into meditation and relaxation. Become physically, mentally and spiritually fit.
Location
This surf and yoga camp will take place in Furadouro, Portugal. Just 30 kilometers from Porto by the coast, a picturesque seaside village nestled between endless beaches, the nature park of Maceda Pine Forest, and the Lagoon Ria de Aveiro. The Lodge is just a short walk to Praia da Furadouro. All year round the temperatures are comfortable, 300 days of sunshine and pure Atlantic Ocean air.
Furadouro has a charming historic center. You will find superb local restaurants that serve Portuguese and International dishes for great prices. Not to mention the grilled fish plates, that arrived in the morning and were just caught from the local fishermen in the sea. Cosy cafés, fancy beach bars, delicious ice cream parlors and crêpe stands as well as a sparkling nightlife. It is all just a stone’s throw away.
Distances
Porto (30 kilometers - 30 minutes)
Porto is Unesco World Heritage and best European tourism destination. Avoid traffic and parking troubles, just take off to your city adventure from the lodge. The train from Ovar brings you directly to the city center. Nightlife is epic. You will find friends for one night or even for a lifetime.
Aveiro
Aveiro is known as the Portuguese Venice and a must-see in the region. Jump on a moliceiro and cross the river channels, watch the art nouveau houses and try ovos moles. Don’t leave without having experienced this special place.
Ovar
Ovar is one of the best places to see Portuguese tiles and the nationwide famous carnival. It’s just behind the lodge.
Ria De Aveiro
In the Ovar Province, everything lives around these 47 kilometers of water parallel to the sea. A network of canals and islands, its waters are home to flamingos and heaps of rare bird species.
Churches Of Válega and Cortegaça
They are true masterpieces of tile painting art and one of the most impressive churches in Portugal. At sunset, they are particularly beautiful, bathed in sunlight. Golden temples that shine in fantastic multi colors, framed by majestic palm trees.
Santa Maria Da Feira
It is a historical medieval town hosting one of the most beautiful castles in Portugal. A visit inside the stone walls and the fantastic views are worth all year around. Every year in August, streets are filled with knights, merchants, fire eaters and jugglers when the Feira da Medieval takes place.
