Garda Kitesurf invites you to kite from a sailing catamaran in the Caribbean Sea! Together with a skipper and kite instructor, you will explore amazing spots and enjoy the trade winds in the Grenadines aboard a luxurious catamaran Catana 47. The reef is providing well-sheltered anchorages for the catamaran in amazing lagoons and cays where you can kite, enjoy the sun, and swim with turtles. Union island, Frigate, Mayerau, Tobago Cays, Petit Tabac, and Canouan are the paradisiac spots you will visit during this catamaran kite trip.
You will be staying on a Catana Custom 47 feet, a 14-meter luxurious and high-performance catamaran with large livable spaces, great comfort for life on board, and easy management of kite gear. It has four double rooms for guests, four bathrooms, two single berths for the crew, air conditioning, living room, and kitchen. The characteristics of the catamaran are 140 l / h of water marker, 220 Volts of power in each room, 670 l of water-tank, 2 x 55 horsepower of the engine, and 3.5-meter rigid hull, 15 horsepower of the engine for the dingy.
Kiting from a catamaran is a unique experience but requires a higher kiting level and attention compared to the level required for more conventional land spots. Rescue and coaching are included from an IKO certified kite instructor for riders to be able to ride upwind, relaunch the kite from the water, and body-drag to the lost board. Classes are available on request for intermediate to advanced riders.
During the retreat, you will discover Grenada, Union Island, Frigate Island, Mayreau, Tobago Cays, and Petit Saint Vincent.
The Grenadines, a small group of the Caribbean Windward Islands, are definitely well-known kitesurfing paradise and a perfect environment for a kiteboarding catamaran cruise.
Union Island is the most famous spot in the Grenadines. A shallow water lagoon is protected from the reef and the kiters ride between the reef and the boats at the anchor. On the north side of the lagoon, there is a small beach where you can launch the kite and enjoy the day under the palms close to the JT Pro Center. In the middle of the lagoon, the little bar of Happy Island is waiting for the riders who want to enjoy a cocktail in the light of the sunset.
Frigate is a small island located five-mile west from Clifton and connected to Union Island by a little line of land. The low vegetation on the land is not screening the wind but is creating an amazing flat-water condition which is perfect for a super freestyle session. There is a little beach where you can launch the kite from and the lagoon is full of big red starfishes.
Salt Whistle Bay is a paradisiac spot on the northeast side of Mayreau. Once you anchor the catamaran in the leeward bay and cross the little palm wood, an epic huge wave spot is waiting for you. Wind is onshore and the kiters can launch from a little meadow. Close to the beach, the waves are small and become bigger far from the shore.
Tobago Cays is a natural park, an idyllic place, an incredible ecosystem, and an epic kite spot. There are five uninhabited cays, paradisiac lagoons with green turtles, colorful fishes, and crystal-clear waters. From one of these little islands, you will launch the kite and enjoy the amazing ride in the lagoon. The colors of the water are unbelievable and many turtles are swimming in the crystalline waters of the cays. In the evening, local fishermen are cooking lobsters on the grill on the beach of one of the little islands.
