Freesurf Camp & Hostel invites you to join a surf camp in beautiful Ferrel, Peniche, Portugal. You will enjoy surfing with experienced surf instructors. It's alright if you're a complete beginner as this retreat is designed for all levels of surf experience. A lovely and comfortable accommodation awaits you in this surf camp. Come and embark on an unforgettable surfing experience!
During this retreat, you will be staying at Freesurf Camp & Hostel. Located on the way from Ferrel to the wild beaches of Almagreira and Belgas, Freesurf facilities are known for the tranquility and for the breathtaking sea view. Take their excellent breakfast in the glass room, checking the sea, in preparation for a great day at the beach. With or without surf classes, it is a fantastic way to start the day.
In the evening, you can relax in the swimming pool, just before a fantastic sunset view from the terrace to the ocean and Berlenga Island, while having a drink with your friends. The hostel is managed by people who have been professionally involved with the surf market during all of their lives. There is also a Freesurf surf shop in Baleal where all hostel guests are very welcome and entitled to special discounts.
Note: Surfboard and wetsuits are free to use outside surf classes. Please note that class schedules may vary according to the tide.
Miguel is a surf trainer level 1 and surfer since 1980. He is an experienced surf contest organizer and a major surf brands distributor more than 25 years. He is also a wet suits specialist manufacturer and a local surfer since 1987. His board preferences is a short board but also longboard enthusiast. His preferred surf spots are at Peniche area and southwest Portugal.
Nuno is a surf trainer level 2. He has been surfing since 1985 and more than 12 years experience for beginners and advanced levels. He is an experienced surf judge and former longboarder competitor. He is Peniche local surfer and longboarder. His board preferences is a short board and long board. His preferred surf spots is Supertubos and Baleal.
Vitor is a surf trainer level 1 and a surfer since 1995. He has an ISA surf trainer degree and has five years experience of initial and intermediate levels. He is a Peniche local surfer. His board preferences are short board, long board, and stand up paddling. His preferred surf spots are Baleal and Belgas.
Miguel is a surf trainer level 1 and a surfer since 1980. He is an experienced surf photographer. His board preferences are short board, long board, and stand up paddling enthusiast. His preferred surf spots are Peniche, Ericeira, and Caparica.
Located in Ferrel, next to Baleal, Peniche, Freesurf Camp & Hostel has the perfect location for those who are looking to have fun and relax at the same time. Situated in an agricultural reserve area, halfway between Almagreira and Baleal beach, the hostel is close enough to allow you to enjoy all the beaches and nightlife without being bothered by all the hustle and bustle.
Here, you can enjoy an amazing sea view over Berlengas Island and relax in the pool while watching the overwhelming sunsets of the west coast of Portugal. Come and meet the amazing shoreline of Peniche, well-known for its great waves and beaches.

Daily breakfast is included in the price. Dinner and lunch box are available for an extra fee (only available for groups of four people or more). The lunch box contains a sandwich, a juice, water, and fruit. Dinners are essentially meat and fish barbecue as well as a Portuguese typical food.
In case you have any food allergies or other food restrictions, please inform Freesurf Camp & Hostel. Dinners are some of the highlights of Freesurf house, where everyone can enjoy sharing and laughing about the different stories and happenings of the day while tasting the local cuisine with super fresh fish and also local juicy veggies, cooked in their main grill or in their wooden oven.
For the ones wishing to have fun after dinner, there are many nice places around, where you can enjoy music and dance. If that is not your thing, just stay in Freesurf and have a nice drink while watching a movie in the living room near the fireplace.
On your free time, you can explore nearby cafes and restaurants, check out local events, or just wander around to explore the local surroundings. Peniche is known for its unique history, gastronomy, and culture!
Please book your flight to arrive at Lisbon Airport (LIS). Transfer from and to this airport is available upon request at an extra fee.
You can catch a bus to Peniche on Sete Rios Station (metro blue line). Freesurf Camp & Hostel could pick you up at Peniche bus station. Please tell Freesurf Camp & Hotel a few days in advance.
