Free Spirit is not only a hostel but also a place where to experience new things such as surf, yoga, meditation, horseback riding, and a lot more.

I really liked my stay there. The privates rooms are really clean and cute, with the private bathroom and everything we liked to have our place to settle down for a week. The yoga classes everyday on the deck were soooo nice and the yoga teacher was amazing. El Transito is a really cute town of fisherman with a stunning beach and really nice waves to surf (for beginners and advanced). I really like the classes of surf we had, the teachers were sweet and the equipment is good and is being taking care of (compared to others places where we rented board in Nicaragua). The vegetarian food was really great too. It's a good place to relax, read a book in a hammock, meet people, play drinking games at the bar, surf and swim and do yoga. The only thing is I think that some of the staff were really in a close gang so not always nice to people coming in and the is A LOT of french Canadian (I am one) and I did not like it that much because what is nice about travelling is meeting people from everywhere not feeling like at home in Nicaragua. Also, I find it really expensive compared to every other hostel in Nicaragua and compared to the Surf Hostel juste beside where the staff was awesome.

The Free Spirit Hostel is an amazing place to surf, chill, do yoga and meet new people! You can surf the entire day with help from more advanced surfers. The hostel is good but the atmosphere gives the Free Spirit its charm, everyone participates as one big one family which immediately makes you feel at home! Most welcoming and helpful owners and staff.
