During this retreat, you will stay at Flotsam and Jetsam Hostel. Flotsam and Jetsam Hostel is an Instagramagical artist universe bursting from the imagination of its founders, Mia Sebastian, Carla Suiza, and Joncy Sumulong. It is a travel and an adventure in the form of a fun-filled social hostel celebrating art, music, style, design, happiness, friendship, and imagination in the surf town, La Union.

You will be accommodated at four-bed premium dorm, with first come, first served basis. Each room is furnished with eight-inch mattresses and bio-air ortho bed toppers. Each bed has a privacy curtain, personal access to its built-in locker, personal lighting unit, and embedded power outlets. You may request for a private room at an additional fee.

Surfing

Learn to surf in the hip town of San Juan, La Union. There will be one coach for every two students and surfboard rental is included as well. All coaches are certified ISA instructors and certified life savers under constant training.

Ashtanga yoga

Ashtanga yoga is a method of yoga that involves synchronizing the breath with a progressive series of postures, a process producing intense internal heat, and a profuse and purifying sweat that detoxifies muscles and organs. Surfing and yoga go hand in hand and there is no doubt about the many benefits yoga can have on surfing. Stretch into poses to improve your pop ups, build core, flexibility, and balance in surfing.

Superfoods for surfers

Discover the benefits of superfoods and what to take to keep you healthy and fueled for your next surf session. Make your own snacks and bites that are quick, simple, and nutritious such as chia cups, fudge bars, and energy drinks.

    Monica is a certified yoga teacher through Greenpath Yoga under Clayton Horton and Mo-Ching Yip. Since 2009, she has been teaching various classes of yoga: Vinyasa, Yin, beginners yoga, Prenatal, Postnatal, and Antigravity yoga. She teaches regularly at Beyond Yoga branches in Metro Manila and has done retreats around the Philippines and in Bali, Indonesia, with the Flow team and Bahay Kalipay. Monica believes in a mindful, deep, and strong practice on the mat for a healthy and beautiful life off the mat.

This retreat will be held in San Juan, La Union.

During this retreat, you will be served daily basic continental breakfasts, consisted of assorted cereals, jams, bread, coffee, tea, and juice. For your lunch and dinner, do not be worried as the Flotsam and Jetsam Hostel Hungry Nomad KitchenBar has a vast selection of food and drinks. There are also a selection of recommended restaurants nearby for you to choose from, all are walking distance from Flotsam or a short tricycle ride away.

On Saturday night, you can join and enjoy the parties held at the hostel. Besides, please feel free to use the hostel's musical instruments, books, and game boards, which you can find beside the bar and washroom. Additionally, you can also sign up for treks and tours to Tangadan Falls arranged by the hostel for 880 PHP per person, which includes tour guide, transportation fee, environmental fee, and a water bottle. Please note that La Union laws require that you have a guide with you at the waterfalls.

At the hostel, they provide on-call massage service for around 300 to 400 PHP per hour.

Arrival by airplane

Please book your flight to arrive at The Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL). Everyone will then all meet up at Centris at the scheduled time to be transferred to the venue together.
