It is generally wavier for the first couple of months with the remains of the winter swells, however from May onwards the waves disappear and flat slalom conditions prevail. Although the winter months statistically have less windy days at Flag Beach, there can be better locations within easy reach that have wind for the more advanced sailor.

It is clean and very centrally located and close to all local bars, cafes, restaurants, and supermarkets. Its is only five minutes walk from the bus station and five minutes from the ferry port. It is a great place for single travelers and has a good sociable, relaxed atmosphere.

Catamaran sailing

Why not spend a day on a catamaran and discover the island of Lobos or sail across to Lanzarote for lunch. There is a Lagoon 38' catamaran and it will go to the island of Lobos and anchor in front of La Concha beach. There are snorkeling, canoeing and fishing gear on board or take a swim in the crystal clear waters. This four hour trip around the island finishes with a meal on board the boat. The Lagoon 38' is capable of carrying twelve passengers.

Mountain biking

Another way of exploring the island on a bike tour through the volcanic landscapes on the latest, state of the art, power assisted mountain bikes. A strong but very quiet motor will make cycling up hills and against headwinds enjoyable. A must-do in Fuerteventura.

Ride an ATV or quad

Fuerteventura is not solely know for water sports; with its desert landscapes, volcano lava fields and picturesque north shore what better way to experience this by taking an off road adventure on a quad bike. There are two excursions to suit everybody's needs whether looking for a short two hour trip or the full day with a stop over for lunch or a swim in Cotillo.

"I surfed for five days with an instructor named Theo (really nice name), he was very friendly and always happy. He was very educational and you learned the steps very quickly. He drove us where it was the best surf for the day. Really recommend this place if you want to have a fun time on your vacation!"

"Ben runs the centre in a relaxed yet efficient manor, his ability to tailor the offerings of the centre to suite your ability are excellent. We agreed on some 1-2-1 lessons which at the end of a week provide me with the confidence and adjustments to my riding style I was looking for. The two instructors I experienced, Paul and Alex, were of the highest caliber. The only thing to avoid is low tide when the rocks appear."

"I had already undertaken 3 days kitesurfing lessons before coming here. I was able to pick up where i left off. I liked the way we took the boat out of the crowded beach to learn and teaching from a boat was much more effective than off the beach imo. The instructors were extremely friendly and helpful. They always kept calm and gave advice wherever it was needed, pushing us but not too hard. Overall a great experience."

"I have windsurfed at Flagbeach before many years ago and was keen to use them for kitesurfing lessons. It is a fantastic location right on the beach. I have had lessons before but the Flagbeach method of using a boat and taking you out to open, uncrowded water makes much better sense when getting to grips with the basics. Helpful, patient instructors and good quality equipment allowed me to really progress during my lessons. My daughter even enjoyed a windsurf taster session with them. No hesitation in recommending the Flagbeach team for watersport tuition and rental."
