You will be provided four nights of accommodation at the Casa Chachalaca. Quiet and with a jungle feeling, experience Tulum and stay with Casa Chachalaca. Casa Chachalaca caters to those looking to enjoy the local flair of a quaint tropical town. It is located two kilometers outside of the town of Tulum in a new developing area called La Veleta.

This area of Tulum is quite popular with visitors staying for the night, week, or month. It is situated in a rural setting surrounded by tropical jungle where you can view an amazing array of tropical birds feeding in the trees. The property has a second storey two-bedroom and two-bathroom suite, and a ground floor with three bedrooms and two-bathroom garden condo.

Enjoy these beautiful accommodations perfect for those with extended stays. All guests receive great discounts with Extreme Control, where they offer professional kiteboarding, diving, and standup paddle boarding services.

The surf camp program includes three paddle sessions. You will have a Casa Cenote snorkeling or standup paddle-board (SUP) tour, a Kaan Loom standuppaddle-board (SUP) tour, and a Soliman Bay Reef snorkeling or standup paddle-board tour (SUP).

The paddle-boarding started as a way for surfing instructors to manage groups, and by standing on their longboards, they had better visibility of the incoming swells. Now, people can use their innovation to have a new perspective in touring the coast here in Tulum with a standup paddle-board (SUP).

Typically, surfers have used paddleboards to catch smaller waves, which means conditions are perfect in Tulum for paddle-boarding. Paddle-boarding is a great way to see the coastline, and the best part is that it has no environmental impact.

Unlike motorized activities that pollute the precious reefs and ocean, with paddle-boarding, you know you are able to enjoy the beauty of the ocean while respecting it. As you relax and take in the scenery, you are also working out and taking care of your body.

Casa Cenote snorkeling tour

Enjoy a fun paddle-boarding snorkeling tour in a beautiful cenote where the crystal clear waters allow great viewing of the fish life from above the water. Enjoy some really unique snorkeling surrounded by mangroves and an incredible cenote only a few meters from the ocean.

This tour is perfect for the whole family or for people with no experience in paddle-boarding. It lasts about two hours (three if you include the ocean snorkeling). The trip leaves at 9:00 a.m, 11:00 a.m, 1:00 p.m, or 3:00 p.m. daily. You can request to be met directly in Casa Cenote, where the tour starts if you have your transportation or if you come from Playa del Carmen or any hotel between Playa del Carmen and Casa Cenote.

If you are in Tulum, then you will be met in the main intersection of Tulum where the tour is located. If you are with a large group, Extreme Control can organize a transportation with a van and driver.

Kaan Luum standup paddle boarding (SUP) tour

Enjoy a large paddling around the beautiful Kaan Luum Lagoon. This hidden treasure is located 10 minutes south of Tulum, offering a really large space for people who want to seriously paddle around more than snorkeling and swimming. Here, you will enjoy incredible colors and large view with really few people around.

This is one of the places where the main tourist stream is still to arrive. What makes Kaan Luum Laguna special is the color of the water and the fact the center is a deep cenote. Some say the center is about 80 meters (262 feet) deep. You can tell the color contrast between the center of the lagoon and the sides.

This is also a not very well-known location to go swimming since many of the other cenotes in Tulum are move visited and well-advertised. You can bring the whole family to visit one of the best cenotes in the Riviera Maya and share an unforgettable time.

Soliman Bay Reef snorkeling and standup paddle-boarding (SUP) tour

Soliman Bay is an incredible place in the Mayan Riviera, hidden between Tulum and Akumal. It is a perfect location for sports such as snorkeling, paddle-boarding, kayaking, or simply to enjoy nature.

Extreme Control Adventure offers a snorkel paddle-boarding tour, a perfect combination to enjoy from above your paddle-board of a unique view of the bay, for swimming and for discovering the beauty of the reef that covers in this small paradise.

Included excursions

You have a chance to go on a snorkeling tour on Casa Cenote or Soliman Bay Reef.

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by bus

The bus is your cheapest option. They charge 10 to 12 USD, and they stop in Playa Del Carmen. You catch them at the far right end of the airport as you exit the terminal. The name is ADO Canadarxcenter. You will arrive in the heart of Tulum, and from there you can take a taxi to the hotel for about 3 USD. Please show the taxi driver the map.

Arrival by shuttle

There are vans that drop people off throughout the Riviera Maya. They charge around 40 USD per person and will drop you off right at your hotel. You must wait for the 15 passenger vans to fill up before they leave so you could wait a little bit.

Also, Tulum is their last stop, and they wait until they have other clients going close to Tulum. This also could mean a little bit of a wait.

Arrival by taxi

Hiring a private taxi is by far the fastest and most convenient way to get to Tulum. You can arrange to have the taxi company waiting for you when you arrive and they will bring you directly there. The price is 105 USD for one to two people and 120 USD for three to six people and 140 USD for seven to ten people.

Please contact Extreme Control if you are interested in this option so they can reserve the taxi. You will need to provide your flight information.
