The surf camp will take place in Piha Beach, Auckland, New Zealand. Piha is New Zealand's most famous surf beach. It is located on the West Coast and it is only a 50 minutes drive from Auckland CBD. It is well-known for its black sand beach and the Lion Rock that divides the beach, forming North and South Piha.

In summer there are a lot of lifeguards, who are making sure that everyone is safe in the water. Piha has an arrange of waves, they are good for surfers of all levels. At North Piha you often can find good surf, while there are peaks breaking on both sides of the famous Lion Rock, that can help you with paddling out. South Piha is great for beginners, the waves are calmer over there. North Piha is more suitable for intermediate to advanced. It is an amazing spot to learn to surf!

Things to do (optional)

Visit the Lion Rock

Lion Rock is Piha’s most iconic landmark. It sits between Piha and North Piha beaches, offering people who climb it spectacular views in all directions.

Explore Kitekite Falls

You can have a beautiful walk into the magnificent isolation of this valley of native rainforest. This is a great place to swim in summer (or in winter if you are really keen) Recently, a history of the Kauri Tree Logging in the area has been presented with displays along the track.

Take a walk at Tasman View Lookout

The Tasman View lookout is at the southern end of Piha Beach and has stunning views out to the Tasman sea. A track leads you right in front of the Gap, spilling water into the Bluepools and the nearby Blowhole. When there is low tide, you can walk back along the beach and discover the Keyhole and climb up onto Camel rock.
