Casa de Esteiró is near Caminha. The rural tourism house Casa de Esteiró is surrounded by an idyllic and peaceful garden. This 18th-century manor house is located in the river Minho mouth, near the beach, and surrounded by a medieval forest. The house was originally built as a hunting lodge in the 18th century by the Visconde de Guilhomil, an ancestor of the present owner.

In the gardens, there is a separate house that has been converted into three self-catering apartments. Two of these have two bedrooms each, and the other is a studio apartment.

In the modern annex, located in the outstanding gardens and woods which surround Casa de Esteiró, are two apartments for four people, consisting of two bedrooms, one sitting room, kitchenette, and a bathroom, as well as a terrace. There is also a studio for two people, with kitchenette, bathroom, and a terrace. All the apartments have central heating.

Casa de Cristelo

Casa de Cristelo is family owned, located some 300 meters from Moledo beach. There you will find an oasis of tranquility, consisting of three small houses with a garden and orchard, surrounded by high walls. These are old lodgings that have been refurbished used in a rural tourism setting.

The well-kept garden and the swimming pool of unusual design offer the adequate means to enjoy the rural atmosphere in a cool comfort zone. The large house has two rooms with bathroom, two kitchenettes, two common rooms on the first floor, and a balcony with a view toward the garden and the mountains, besides several ways out to the garden and remaining facilities.

Casa do Meio is located in a separate building, with a double bedroom, bathroom, kitchenette, and living room on the first floor. Through the living room, you can go out to an old threshing-floor where you can find a table and stone benches. The Along the Way House is an ample room with a bathroom and a door that leads into an old threshing-floor with tables and stone benches.

Common to all of them, there are sandy bottoms, an average air temperature of 26 degrees Celsius, and an average water temperature of 16 degrees Celsius.

Just a few three kilometers to the north, you can get to Forte do Cão, who has an impressive capacity to sustain swells from north. Several peaks in the sandy bottom are at disposal for beginners, medium, and advanced surfers. Right ahead is the Vila Praia de Âncora. On the river mouth, there are two great peaks of lefts and rights.

The pier located at north provides a sustainable bottom and a consistent right. Just before the border with Spain, Moledo, there is a beach with some three kilometers long, on the river mouth of Minho, a natural border. On the mid tides, a long and consistent left runs through the middle of the beach till the river. On the left side of the beach, all kinds of waves are available to discover.

The rural tourism house Casa de Esteiró is situated one kilometer to the south of Caminha, at the River Minho mouth, in one of the most beautiful regions of Portugal, only at a few minutes’ walk from the river and the sea. Long sandy beaches and golden dunes, covered with wild bushes and flowers, lie between the medieval forest of Camarido and the Atlantic, opposite the dark granite castle of the Ínsua Island.

The two rivers of Caminha, Minho, and Coura, attract fishermen and tourists, not only for sports events but also by the account of its romantic setting and atmosphere. The green hills and darker mountains of Alto Minho rise only a few hundred yards from Casa de Esteiró.

Caminha is a municipality in the north-west of Portugal, 21 kilometers north from Viana do Castelo and around 100 kilometers from Porto. The population in 2011 was 16,684, in an area of 136.52 square kilometers. Caminha is subdivided into 14 civil parishes. The parish Vilar de Mouros is well-known for the oldest rock festival in Portugal.

The seat of the municipality is the town (or vila in Portuguese) of Caminha, with 2,500 inhabitants. Caminha is located two kilometers from the Atlantic Ocean, on the southern side of the Minho estuary, where this river is met by the smaller and meandering Coura. Here, the Minho reaches its widest point (about two kilometers) and marks the border between Portugal and Spain.

The highly scenic area, with the wide estuary marked by low tide sandbars, a pastoral and green rural landscape, and pine forests on the slopes of the granitic mountains is increasingly popular for second homes and as a summer resort.
