Accommodation

On this retreat, you will be accommodated in various accommodations. E-Group selects small hotels or pousadas that are unique, beautiful, and full of local character. The accommodations are based on double rooms (sharing a room with someone else). They are Rancho do Peixe, Casa São Jose, BGK, Ilha dos Poldros, Pousada Jagatá, Vila Guará.

Rancho do Peixe

Here, everything is designed to keep the local culture always present. It starts with the structure built with wood from reclaimed and carnauba straw, typical of the region. They believe in and take actions that make a difference and contribute to community development.

Casa São Jose

It is a charming colonial-inspired house with the comfort and attention of the past. A lush tropical garden surrounds the suites and chalets, tastefully decorated and with spacious private areas. Under the freshness of the banana trees, the sapotes and seriguelas, a gym equipped for Pilates and stretching exercises precede the pool, surrounded by comfortable lounge chairs and strategically located to enjoy the intense sun of the Northeast. There are many charms in the beach bungalow when arriving from the downwind.

BGK

Barra Grande is a fisherman village, totally transformed by the kitesurfing. It became a charming place, with nice restaurants and lodges. The BGK is a lodge built with natural materials typical of the area and located right on the waterfront, under the shade of a huge palm tree grove. The distribution of the rooms allows guests to socialize in a relaxed atmosphere. Lodges are directly in front of your kitesurf spot.

Ilhas dos Poldros

Ilhas dos Poldros is located in River Parnaiba’s Delta. To arrive in it takes a 15 minutes boat in Porto dos Tatus. The island has 1200 hectare and 18-kilometer beach. The main house has two double rooms, and there are also two independent bungalows with double beds also, so it can accommodate 8 people. Wide leisure area, swimming pool, internet, satellite TV, and optional quads and boat excursions.

Pousada Jagatá

At the end of the Parnaiba River’s Delta, you will find this fisherman village called Tutoia. It is a perfect place to chill out after exploring the wonders of this natural treasure called Delta do Parnaiba. It is a very interesting place, full of culture, in front of a shipwreck. This hotel works hard on the community development.

E-group Brazil Surf Camp Program

Overview

Imagine traveling, discovering new places, experiencing raw nature, and kiting along 100, 200, 300 kilometers at a time. You do all of this using only the energy of the wind, with the support, comfort, and safety of a GPS, satellite phones, and guides helping along the way.

The day before the journey begins, E-group do a test to evaluate whether the kiter is ready for the downwind and to analyze the conditions and the equipment. You will leave the hotel early each morning, heading north - for secret, wild, and remote locations. All the details are pre-defined and E-group offers the guidance from professional athletes in the water, giving valuable tips to kiters daily.

There is a briefing given every morning by the team captain, where you are given a clear vision of the expedition: objectives, the beauty, and the dangers. The support vehicles follow the group whenever possible (where access is not possible, there will be guides in the water to help). Some strategic stopping points have been organized, where the car will stop and wait with you to hydrate yourself with healthy foods and beverages, as well as refresh your mind for the kiting ahead.

This is the natural continuation of the classic path. Here, you will have a pleasure to make a downwind in three different states of Brazil on this route: Ceará, Piauí, and Maranhão.

In this path, the landscape starts to change a lot. You will be getting to a transition area between the dry northeast region to the wet and green Amazon forest. There will be more rivers, dunes, mangroves, forest, and less civilization. Also, you will get to know two treasures of Brazil, which are The Delta of Parnaiba, and optionally the Lençois Maranhenses. With untouched nature, these two sanctuaries are a must for those seeking wildness and E-Group is happy to take you there with all the safety. (The amazing Lençois Maranhenses is an extra that can be organized previously).

Every day the briefing will be at 09:00 after the breakfast, so you will need to prepare your luggage before to eat, after the briefing you will leave your luggage at the reception for the driver (please, ask at front desk to help you with that). Then at 10:00, you will be on the beach ready to go.

Everything will be at the reception when you arrive at each hotel and must be there when you leave. You can separate your small bags (with computers, and cameras) to go inside the car. The gear and other equipment will have to go outside of the car. Please leave luggage at the reception.

This is the natural continuation of the Classic Route. Here you have the opportunity to kite through three different Brazilian states of the northeast, which are Ceara, Piaui, and Maranhao. You will pass through the national park of Serra da Capivara, also a World Heritage Site. You will see how much the landscape changes along this route, between the dry northeast region to the wet and greet amazon forest. There will be more rivers, dunes, mangroves, forests, and less civilization. This route offers the experience to see the Delta of Parnaiba, and optionally the Lencois Maranhenses, which you will need to organize ahead of time.

Location

This surf camp takes place from Parnaiba, Ilha dos Poldros, Tutoia, and the final destination is Atins in Brazil.

Why Brazil?

Paradise

Come and see why Brazil is considered one of the most beautiful countries in the world! When you think of “tropical”, what comes to mind? Here you will find that the warm waters and white sand beaches are a spectacle to see, and will leave you wanting to return. The tropical climate has also created a lush rainforest throughout the majority of the country, where you can find beautiful animals and hidden paradises.

Culture

Brazilians are known to be some of the ‘warmest’ people and have so much to offer, forget the stereotypes! Get to know the welcoming, laid-back lifestyle of the locals, where the good times don’t end. You’ll always feel safe and secure, especially with the kitesurfing scene along the coast!

Don’t forget to eat more than you should, the food in Brazil is amazing! Fresh fruit and vegetables are a daily privilege and are products of the rich agricultural environments found in Brazil. Here you will find fruits that cannot be found anywhere else in the world, and E-Group can assure you that the açaí will leave you with “saudades”. Enjoy a juicy steak, or some fresh fish, Brazil has it all!

Kitesurf

There are various locations in Brazil to kitesurf, but some of the best kiting conditions in the world are found along Brazil’s northeastern coast. This region offers incredible conditions, perfect for kiters who:

  • Want to practice long distance kiting and test their endurance
  • Are interested in progression and improving their kiting abilities
  • Are looking for a new adventure and practice the sport of kiteboarding
  • Most importantly, conditions that are perfect for kiters of all levels
  • From Cumbuco to Atins you will find good wind, warm water, clear skies for seven months throughout the year. This region supports Brazil’s high average wind statistic. The kiting locations are in the middle of paradise, and are unlike anywhere else in the world! Come see for yourself.

Piauí

Piauí has the shortest coastline of any of the Brazilian states at 66 kilometers and the capital, Teresina, is the only state capital in the northeast to be located inland. The reason for this is, unlike the rest of the area, Piauí was first colonized inland and slowly expanded towards the ocean, rather than the other way around. In the southeast of the state, the National Park of Serra da Capivara is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park has more than 400 archaeological sites and the largest concentration of rock paintings in the world, in a landscape dominated by canyons and caatinga.

Food

During this surf camp, you will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast and dinner will be served in the hotels and lunches will be served during activities. The lunch consists of sandwiches, fruit, water, cereal bars, and ice.
