You will stay at various accommodations including Casa São Jose in Camocin, Pousada BGK in Barra Grande, Pousada Ilha dos Poldros in Ilha dos Poldros, Pousada Jagatá in Tutoia, and Pousada Vila Guará in Atins. E-Group select small hotels or pousadas that are unique, beautiful, and full of local character. The accommodations are based on double rooms. It means that you will be paired up with someone but it will all work out.

Casa São José

Located in the historic center of the fishing town of Camocim, Casa de São José is a hotel with colonial charm inspired by the comfort and attention of other times. A lush tropical garden surrounds the four suites and six chalets, carefully decorated and with ample private areas.

Under the freshness of banana trees, sapotes, and seriguelas, a gym equipped for stretching exercises and Pilates, precedes the swimming pool, surrounded by comfortable loungers and strategically located, to take advantage of the intense Northeast sun.

From the traditional networks of Ceará, which pontificate a little everywhere, you can hear the water of the waterfall marking the calm and restful rhythm of the Northeastern days.

Pousada BGK

Barra Grande is a fisherman village, totally transformed by the kitesurf. It became a charming place, with nice restaurants and lodges. The BGK is a lodge built with natural materials typical of the area and located right on the waterfront, under the shade of a huge palm tree grove. The distribution of the rooms allows guests to socialize in a relaxed atmosphere. Lodges are directly in front of your kitesurf spot.

Pousada Ilha dos Poldros

Ilhas dos Poldros is located in River Parnaiba’s Delta. To arrive in it takes a 15-minutes boat in Porto dos Tatus. The island has 1,200 hectares and 18 kilometers beach. The main house has two double rooms, and there are two independent bungalows with double beds, so it can accommodate eight people. Wide leisure area, swimming pool, internet, satellite TV, and optional quads and boat excursions.

Pousada Jagatá

At the end of the Parnaiba River’s Delta, you will find this fisherman village called Tutoia. It is a perfect place to chill out after exploring the wonders of this natural treasure called Delta do Parnaiba. It is a very interesting place, full of culture, in front of a shipwreck. This hotel works hard on the community development.

How it works

The day before the journey begins, E-Group do a test to evaluate whether the kiter is ready for the downwind and to analyze the conditions and the equipment.

There is a briefing given every morning by the team captain, where you are given a clear vision of the expedition: objectives, the beauty, and the dangers. The support vehicles follow the group whenever possible (where access is not possible, there will be guides in the water to help).

Some strategic stopping points have been organized, where the car will stop and wait with you to hydrate yourself with healthy foods and beverages, as well as refresh your mind for the kiting ahead.

Level description (Intermediate)

Routes are appropriate for riders who:

  • Have more experience in one to two meters waves and are progressing with wave riding.
  • Have done multiple downwinders.
  • Are confident of their ability to kite for at least three hours per day.
  • Can ride toe-side for short distances.

Every day the briefing will be at 09:00 after the breakfast, so you´ll need to prepare your luggage before eating, after the briefing you will leave your luggage at the reception for your driver (please, ask at front desk to help you with that) then at 10:00, you will be on the beach ready to go.

Everything will always be at the reception when you arrive at each hotel and must be there when you leave. You can separate your small bags (with computers, and cameras) to go inside the car. Your gear and other equipment will have to go outside of the car. Please leave the luggage at the reception.

This is your shorter version of the Delta Path. The route starts in Camocim, about 60 kilometers ahead of Prea. You will get to know two treasures of Brazil during this route: the Delta of Parnaiba, and optionally the Lencois Maranhenses. These two sanctuaries are a must for those seeking wildness and adventure. The Lencois Maranhenses is an additional option that must be organized ahead of time.

Day 1: Check in at Casa São Jose

Check in at Rancho do Peixe and have a welcoming meeting. In the afternoon, you will have a warm-up session to get to know the sailing conditions and test the equipment. Amazing dinner at 19.00 and stay overnight at Casa São Jose.

Day 2: Camocim to Barra Grande

You will meet for breakfast around 08:00 and have a briefing at 09:00. This will be done every day and is very important to share details of the route, specific risks or cautious areas and define stop in the strategic meeting points and check important points. After that, you will transfer from Prea to Camocim, and then have an amazing kite trip from Camocim to Barra Grande.

Day 3: Barra Grande to Ilha dos Poldros

Be prepared to experience the marvelous Delta do Panaíba. It’s an amazing environment in one of the most beautiful places in Brazil. You are planned and expected to have a delicious dinner at Ilha dos Poldros hotel. It is truly unique, very remote, and simply amazing. Here you get a taste of what it’s like to be right in the middle of the Delta, with rivers snaking through the live dunes and wildlife everywhere. Dinner at 19:00 in Ilha dos Poldros.

Day 4: Ilha dos Poldros

Have fun on Ilha dos Poldros. So much to see and enjoy.

Day 5: Ilha dos Poldros to Tutóia

Early morning, have brief description of the day. You will find amazing rivers, dunes, great waves until the river meets the sea and only you and your kite can pass through to the beach until the charming Tutóia beach, which will connect kiters and support cars back in the simple little town and you will have an awesome night with the stars. Overnight and dinner at 19:00 in the simple Jagata pousada.

Day 6: Tutóia to Atins

Early morning, have brief description of the day. Vila Guara is another truly unique and beautiful spot, where you can relax under the stars at the end of the trip. You might want to stay in Atins an extra night to enjoy the incredibly remote, unique, tranquil, and beautiful surroundings. You will have a great dinner around 19:30.

Day 7: Check out from Atins

You will have to check out from Vila Guara by noon.

This surf camp will take you to several different locations in Brazil, starting from Camocim, Barra Grande, all the way to Ilha dos Poldros, Tutoia, and Atins.

Camocim is the municipality of the route of emotions with the largest coast. With about 60 kilometers of beaches, there are true wonders of nature such as Barra dos Remédios, Ilha do Amor, Tatajuba, and Guriu, stretching almost to Jericoacoara. Most of the tours that the tourist of Jericoacoara does are to the municipality of Camocim.

Brazil is a very large, incredibly diverse and vibrant country. It’s just about as large as the United States, excluding Alaska and Hawaii, and has a population of more than 200 million. You can find all types of landscapes in Brazil, and the population has a history in indigenous people as well as immigrants from Africa, Europe, and Asia, resulting in a very very diverse and cosmopolitan culture.

Wave condition

In the north, it is hard to find really good long peeling waves. The best waves are at river mouths and sandy points. There are a few spots but in general, you should not come to the north of Brazil with the expectation of riding tons of perfect waves. That said, if there is some swell in the water, certain spots at river mouths, sandbars and points can produce some fun stuff!

During this surf camp, you will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Breakfast and dinner will be served in the hotels and lunches will be served during activities. The lunch consists of sandwiches, fruit, water, cereal bars, and ice.
