Hot Springs and Waterfalls
Hacienda Guachipellin is right next to Rincon de la Vieja National Park and Dream Surf House definitely recommend you add a dip in the natural volcanic hot springs during your day trip to the park. The most natural hot springs site they have seen and one of the few where you can “body paint” yourself in warm volcanic mud. Experience of a lifetime!

Rincon de la Vieja National Park
Within 2 hrs drive of the surf camp, there is one of Costa Rica’s most endangered climate zones – dry rain forests at a site of volcanic activity.There are a few trails you can explore depending on the time you have and the distance you’d like to cover a waterfall to visit and swim in, and a loop around geothermal and volcanic features to walk.
Scuba Diving, Fishing, Boat Trips
Fishing trip, Sunset Booze Cruise, or Catamaran Sailing? Just let Dream Surf House know and they can arrange an outing for your group. Scuba diving and snorkeling are also very popular in the area and are offered at many places around the camp. They’d be happy to help you with the reservation and choosing the best activity provider. (PACIFIC COAST DIVING). The exact time and duration of the trips depend on the activity chosen and weather conditions.
Surf Factory Tour
For the surfing fanatics and the ones interested in how your surfboard shape affects your performance in the water, Dream Surf House can take you to Che Surfboards, the local factory where they get most of the boards and walk you through the surfboard shaping process for a nominal fee.
Turtle Watching
Within 30 minutes of the camp, you have the unique opportunity to watch turtles in their natural habitat arriving at the beach to lay their eggs and then hatching and swimming away in the ocean. If you are at camp at the right time of the year, Dream Surf House can organize a turtle-watching trip for you.
You can also visit by boat Las Baulas National Marine Park right outside Tamarindo and see the jungle and its marine inhabitants from the water. Crocodiles, turtles, lizards, and monkeys are guaranteed.
Ziplining, Aerial Parks, Horseback Riding
In Tamarindo area a number of ziplines, adventure parks, horseback riding tours, and aerial walks through the jungle. Just ask Dream Surf House and they’ll be happy to organize a day on land and in the treetops for you!
