This listing has one of the 10 most popular offers available in Dominican Republic
Dominican Surf Trips will take the gamble and guesswork out of your surf travel adventure while at the same time providing you the best value and services for every traveling dollar that you will spend on this surf camp. With over 15 years of surfing the Dominican Republic, your coach, Brandon, has an intimate knowledge of breaks, and he knows when and where the best waves are. This guarantees guests the best available surf conditions.
You will be staying for six nights in a hut which was hand built by the local people from the nearby village. It can accommodate up to four persons comfortably and has fresh running water. There is no electricity. The hut is at the top of the point and catches a breeze from all angles so it can even get chilly at night. There is also perfect grass areas for camping in a tent if you enjoy that. They have 24-hour security on the property.
Just in front of the hut where you will be staying is a number of peaks with a reef bottom. Depending on the swell direction, it offers fun lefts and rights. The main peak straight out is mostly a right that is great for both surfing and stand-up paddle boarding. It is not a world class wave by any means, but for the Caribbean, it is a pretty consistent break. It is fairly deep and hard to hit bottom.
They also have a few spots nearby that are protected from the trade winds better than the spot out front. The beach break is a 30-minute drive from the hut which brings you to a long stretch of wide open beach break. When the wind and conditions are right it can be extremely hollow. Another 30-minute drive in the opposite direction, you will find numerous reefs and beach breaks that hold all swell sizes.
On the smaller days, the wave just in front of the hut is great for wave riding for SUP. There are a number of outer reefs and beaches very close by.
There are three great flat water SUP spots very close to the property. The river is the favorite of many guests. It is about a three-hour adventure through the jungle and eventually, you end up at a small beach close to the hut. There are also two freshwater springs that have trails all through the mangroves with wild birds and fish everywhere. There are no alligators or crocodiles in the Dominican Republic.
The price of the packages include trips to local caves and spring water pools.
This surf camp will take place in Cabarete, Dominican Republic. It is in the center of the most surf rich and consistent area with access to many different waves and is ten minutes from Playa Encuentro, the Dominican Republic's most consistent spot. By its geographical location, Cabarete provides world class waves, and also world class conditions for kitesurfing and windsurfing.
The area provides multiple types of waves, from beach breaks to reefs and points. It blows offshore most mornings then comes around as side shore trade winds which are great for kiting. It also has almost a mile of oceanfront property and the closest village is about a 10-minute drive away, so it's very removed and you will have the place all to yourself.
Cabarete is the center of north coast tourism: it is safe, affordable, and is loaded with great restaurants, bars, and modern tourism infrastructure. It also has supermarkets and modern health care facilities.
You will be served breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily. Alcohol is included in the price as well. There are also unlimited organic coconuts grown right on the property if you want to have a healthy drink. Should you choose to dine out, a local guide can advise you on the best dining areas around the town.
