Momo is the founder of Discovery Kite. He is an ocean and watersports enthusiast - happiest in and on the water. He is a local, coming from a kitesurfing background in El Gouna, who started kitesurfing from the very beginning when kite safety systems were very rudimentary. He is a North Kiteboarding Egypt Pro Rider with many kitesurf competitions won behind. He loves to teach advanced old-school tricks and freestyle. Above all, Momo speaks fluent English, German, and Russian languages.

Zaky has grown up in El Gouna and started kiteboarding in 2019. He is a professional IKO kitesurfing instructor by the day and a musician by night. Old school tricks are his greatest passion and a fantastic way to get hold of the sky. He loves animals, speaks fluent English & has incredible musical skills.

"Amazing course"
My instructor, Hamo, was amazing. Nice, good communication and helped me learn very fast. The Discovery Kite camp is a Makani Beach Club, the facilities are great and people are nice. It's a great spot for beginners and advanced. I would definitely recommend, especially with Hamo, you will learn fast and have fun kitesurfing.

"Great for learning to Kite"
Flexible with hours, we had 2 sessions per day and depending on the wind we would split up the time in the water. Generally had around 4h per day. Unlike other camps which only have a certain number of hours.
The beach club has a good vibe and the food and drinks are nice.

Ahmed and Juba were really excellent instructors for the 3 of us. 2 of us were complete beginners and one of us had done a little before, all in our 60s 😜. They were patient and positive and all 3 of us really felt like we made great progress. Most important, we had fun!
Plenty of kit to use and plenty of wind too. Sorry we broke some of it 😞
The Makani beach club has a lovely vibe and food is good too. Shuttle transfers back and forward between the hotel and beach club worked well too.
We all ended the week very happy and physically tired. Would definitely recommend and we will definitely return.

"Amazing!"
We had an amazing week. Ahmed explained everything very well and we were able to stand on the board on the first day. All the instructors are friendly and helpfull. You can have a really nice time here! Everything went very smooth and the equipment was great. The beachclub serves very nice food and it is great to hang out for the day. El Gouna is a very nice and safe place in itself. The town is full of great restaurants and shops. The shuttle service picked us up and brought us back to the airport. No problems at all. All in all we had a super nice experience! Already planning our next trip!

"Amazing company, incredibly positive experience"
Never kite surfed in my life, so I decided to take the 6 day course to learn. I had 2 instructors, Ahmed and Ozzie. I was told normally I would have 1 instructor, however Ahmed had to leave half way through to compete in a national RedBull competition. So it clearly shows the teachers are no joke and national pros. Both teachers were really nice, had no expectations and would help in everyway possible. By the end of the trip I was heading up wind and down wind. All the equipment is really new, or new, and in very good condition, and everything was supplied down to the shoes. Momo the owner is a super cool guy as well, and always down for a chat during a break. I would definetly return and highly recommend them to anybody!

"Adventures in El Gouna"
Whilst we were unlucky in terms of wind during our week in El Gouna, Momo and Alice were great hosts, really making sure that our experience is positive regardless of the weather.
Their flexibility and reactivity was great to make the best of our situation and swap days without wind for other exciting activities in the area like snorkeling, diving and quad driving.
They are extremely friendly and full of advices to embrace the area's opportunities.
Ozzie our instructor also gave us great insights into kitesurfing and a real feel for the sport. Using the down moment to teach us about safety/recovery etc. he has been in the sport for years and really has a lot to bring to newcomers.

Highly recommend. The location of Makani beach was exellent. The kite instructor was always smiling. The kite equipment was brand new . The spot was perfect for beginners and advance kiters. The bar where the school was had super delicius food, and extra relaxing atmosphere. Hope to see you soon!

"Best vacation ever!!!"
My husband and I went into this experience with low to moderate expectations. Wow!!! Everything was amazing. Momo took care of us as if we were VIPs and made sure everything ran smoothly from the airport transfer when we arrived until the return transfer for departure. The resort was stunning and accommodated all our needs. So much food!! If you can’t find something you like, you must be crazy. Everything was very clean and spacious. Then, the kiteboarding. I cannot even put into words how incredible this experience was. We went from beginners at the start of the week to independent/intermediate kiters by the 6th day. My husband can now ride both ways, edge and turn to ride upwind. We owe it all to Osama “Ozzie” Mahmoud. He was so kind and patient and incredibly knowledgeable. He made sure we were safe and learned all the basics from the beginning. He gave us small steps we could perfect and then build upon. He made it fun!! We were so pleased that we booked an extra lesson on the final day of our vacation. Ozzie was the absolute bomb!!! We are already planning to return again next year. Maybe we will stay 2 weeks next time. We are so appreciative of everything they did at Discovery Kite to make our vacation so memorable.

"7 Day Kitesurf Camp in El Gouna (Makani Beach Club)"
I spent an amazing week in april at Makani beach in El Gouna. Momo was always very helpful with planing and organisation and he is making sure thant everything is going well as soon as you arrive at the airport. I never did kitesurfing before and after a couple of days I was independant with Yusuf as an instructor. The Makani Beach Club is beautiful with good food and nice people. There are many other things to do for no wind days like wakeboarding, snorkling or visiting Luxor. I will come back next year !

"Great holiday"
The El Gouna resort overall was great, and Makani seemed like the best beach spot with lots of fellow kite surfers and facilities (cafe bar, gym, work space). The guys at Discovery Kite were really friendly and got the impression they were making every effort to ensure I had a great holiday, being very generous with their time throughout the week and providing a good level of instruction.

"Amazing camp"
I had the chance to be coached by both Momo and Mike. They were both amazing! I never did kitesurf before and after a week I was independent. Momo made sure that everything was going smoothly from the moment I set foot in Egypt. Transportation was easy and the city itself was very clean and enjoyable. We were never bothered by merchants wanting to sell us stuff and the local restaurants were good. The hotel room was very clean and comfortable except for the pillows (hey, that's the only negative part of the place!). The Makani Beach club (were the kitesurfing took place) is simply AMAZING! Good food, nice people, super comfortable.
I'll definitely go back for more advanced lessons and to enjoy Makani!
