Very welcoming and always smiling, he has tons of experience teaching beginners and intermediate surfers, always putting the safety of his surfers first.

Perfektes kleines Surf Camp
Ich hatte eine super schöne Zeit bei Surfers Paradise. Im Vergleich mit den anderen Surfschulen war diese recht klein und ich hatte dadurch häufig sogar die Möglichkeit einer Einzelstunde. Die Unterkunft war günstig und total ausreichend und das Frühstück sehr lecker.

10 days surfcamp from beginner to line up
First and foremost, the people at surfers paradise are fabulous. Kind and helpful all the time, very warm and open. Regarding the surf lessons: they provide a very good Niveau of teaching. I arrived as a very beginner and they taught me a lot. From popping up on a softboard to trying to catch waves on my own on a hard board in the line up. The breakfast was very good and it was always a very nice atmosphere at the schools place. I had a private room in the hostel and it was also quite nice.
In sum, I can highly recommend taking lessons at surfers paradise. Whenever I come to weligama, I will stop by for these nice people.

Surfcamp Review
This was the most incredible experience! First off, Pragee (and the rest of his team) are excellent instructors. I am very grateful to have learned from him and enjoyed my progression throughout the 10 days. Most importantly, I felt very safe in the water with Pragee and was able to improve everyday. Also, the atmosphere was amazing and we enjoyed many good times with the fellow campers and the entire staff. The breakfast was also delicious! The value for the price is impossible to find anywhere else.

My daughter had an amazing time learning to surf for the first time. The surf school and our hotel accommodation were perfectly located, just a short walk from each other. Mr. Pragee, her instructor, was fantastic—very cool and accommodating, especially considering our short holiday stay in Weligama. The breakfast was excellent, and the school staff were very friendly. Excellent experience in Paradise
I loved how welcoming the staff of Surfers Paradise was. People are so nice and they are great surf coaches. I felt in 4 days the progression, and was able to take waves that I would never think I would be able to. The waves there are very consistent with areas perfect for beginners and other for intermediate level.
Excellent location of the accomadation that is just next to the sea. 50m away from the hostel you have the surf camp.

Great vibes and great surfing. You won’t want to leave!
Me and my boyfriend found Pragrees surf camp on book surf retreats just as a starting point for some surfing on our trip to Sri Lanka. Pragree offers lessons for total beginners to intermediates, so his lessons a can suit all levels of ability. The sessions never had more than 3 people in them so we got some really valuable time out on the waves with Pragree…. We’ve surfed before so we were looking for some pointers on how we can improve. I picked up lots of pointers and felt so much more confident in the water by the end.
The whole team brings such a nice vibe to the camp and made us feel really welcome and relaxed. If you opted for the breakfast included package it’s all home made and served on the beach (so good!)
We originally did the 3 night 4 day package, but loved it so much we extended it by another night, then even ended up coming back for a few more days after some time in mirissa.
There’s a lot of surf schools on the beach front in Weligama it can be a little overwhelming choosing where to go… so let this review be your sign to go to surfers paradise because those guys bring the good energy!

Absolute Empfehlung!!
Das Ambiente und die Ausstattung der Schule sind super! Der Surfunterricht mit meinem Guide Pragee waren wirklich sehr lehrreich und haben Spaß gemacht. Die Unterkunft die bei der Buchung inklusive ist, ist auch sauber und schön. Außerdemnistvaich das Frühstück am Strand mit inklusive, das täglich frisch zubereitet wird und exzellent schmeckt!

I booked the surfcamp with Surfers Paradise and it was amazing, the instructor explained very well and he is funny, it wasn't my first time but I will definetly recommand the surf camp and book more classes it is cheap and valuable for what you get :)

Excellent Instructor, great vibes
Excellent surf instructor. Pragee made sure to offer tailored surf session to each guest, taking into account the sea conditions and choosing the best time and location to cater for our level (NB: I wasn't there during peak season). Also, we were able to choose the surf boards we were most comfortable with. I took surf lessons many times and in many different places, however I can still say that I learned new useful tricks from Pragee.
Great vibes at this surf school overall, where we hung out also outside the sessions. Nice breakfast on the beach.
The room is right across the street from the surf school, which is extremely convenient.

A Great Surf Camp Experiance
I had a lovely 10 day experience with Surfers Paradise. Pragee and his team are all very warm and welcoming. The camps structure of two daily lessons provided the perfect balance of challenge and rest. Pragee is a very patient teacher and I always felt safe in the water under his instruction. I was able to see a large improvement in my surf skills as I transitioned to catching green waves. The accommodation is in a perfect location right next to the school and the waves. I opted to stay in one of the hotel room which has a lovely view overlooking the waves.

Absolute Empfehlung!
Wir hatten eine richtig tolle Zeit in Weligama mit unserem Lehrer Nero, die besser gar nicht hätte sein können. Alles ist super unkompliziert und die Surfschule super flexibel. Sie gehen auf allerlei Wünsche ein. Neben dem Unterricht war das selbst zubereitete Frühstück nach traditioneller Art ein Highlight. Hotel war top und lag schräg gegenüber der Surfschule- einmal die Straße überqueren und schon ist man da.
Eine Surfschule, zu der man sehr gerne zurückkehrt! Wir vermissen sie jetzt schon!

Attentive, Fun and Professional
Prageet is a great coach! Being a first-timer in surfing, he ensures I'm safe and doesn't push me too hard when I'm just happily falling off my board. Our sessions were clumsy and hilarious, and thankfully they also showed a lot of improvement over time (3 days!).
What I appreciate most about Prageet is how he makes the sessions enjoyable - with really bad jokes sometimes. He is respectful and has a good command of English, so communication was great.
He also goes beyond just coaching by the hour by sharing tips and insights about things to do in Sri Lanka after the session. Thanks Prageet!

Very good experience for a budget camp
This is perfect for a budget camp.
The hotel is literally across the street from the beach where you surf and take classes.
All we wanted was a place to sleep and to surf as much as possible and we got exactly that.
So the hotel room is very basic although you get AC which is a great plus and we got 2 surf classes per day which is a very good amount.
Prageet is really good and made an effort to accommodate all our requests.
Surf instructor was also really good and very technical. Taught me a lot.

Cheap and high quality
The hotel is in front which make it easy to get the class in the morning, we have choice to get breakfast before or after and it is made according to our needs which is really good when you can't eat everything like me.
Then, the best is the class you get with the teacher, very patient and explained everything. You can pop up during the first class and every step are explained. When you fall he explain when you succeed he encourage you.

Excellent first surfing experience in Sri Lanka
It was the first time for my 10 year old daughter and I to visit Sri Lanka and to surf in Weligama. Surely it won't be the last time. Overall, we had a wonderful experience with Prageeth at Surfers Paradise. He stayed with my daughter (one on one) to ensure her safety and found me another coach. I would recommend this experience to any beginner or intermediate surfers. There's definitely enough waves for everyone! Breakfast options are plenty and all are good. Hotel is clean and comfortable. Plus, he could help you to arrange transport from and to airport easily. In short, we will come back.

Best teacher in weligama
They are very flexible and patient for the classes. You can improve very fast. They explained very well and take time to be sure you understand. During the class they stay longer until you get your last good waves.
The breakfast was really nice and they give us the best address in weligama.
The shoulder massage was very interesting and good.

What you buy is what you get :)
I was a bit sceptical before booking the 4 day surf camp, because it didn’t look like a normal one - and it isn’t. If you want that it’s around the twice amount of money and you typical have to book 1 month in advance. You stay at a descent hostel in Weligama close to everything, and the surf camp is at the beach. If you’re travelling solo you might need to put some effort in the social aspect, but all you need to do is just being around the camp in their couches and be open-minded. They arranged a bonfire and a night out at a restaurant, which was a success to me. Time and structure might be a bit loose, but all I have to say to that is welcome to Sri Lanka - that’s very normal. If you’re unsure of anything just ask - even twice if you want to be sure. They are all very patient and helpful, and want the best for you. The surf instructors are very good at their job! They don’t just throw you in the water and push you, they actually explain before and during the surf (a lot at the camp agreed in this). They make sure that you develop, and get tips to the level that you’re at. I’m an intermediate surfer and asked to go to other spots. They arranged that which I was grateful for, but be aware that transport out of Weligama is not a part of the package.
The breakfast was delicious - both Sri Lankan and western breakfast are possible. I asked if it could be gluten-free and they made sure of that and even made various things, so I didn’t have the same each morning.

Perfect
I came with three friends and we really enjoyed. They start again their camp and make you feel free and relax. Their team try to arrange the class the way we want and really want to make us comfortable.

Surfcamp Weligama - 4 days
Had a fantastic four-day stay at Weligama Surfcamp Surfers Paradise. Pragee's coaching and explainations were top-notch, and the atmosphere was perfect for both relaxation and surf improvement. It was an amazing experience and I cant recommend the Surfers Paradise Surfcamp enough.

Amazing Surf
The surf school was great, they were flexible with times and we went out at different times according to the waves. The surf instructor was great, he provided great advice and I really progressed over the days. He only took a few people out at a time so I had some good quality surf lessons.
The breakfast was so nice and refreshing. It was a great place to learn and progress, I had a laugh with the staff who made me feel so welcome. Would definitely recommend 🏄🏻♀️

Super Anfängerstunden!
Wir haben als Paar am 2 Tages Kurs mit 3 Surfstunden teilgenommen.
Prageeth ist ein toller Lehrer, der es selbst bei mir geschafft hat, dass ich auf dem Brett stehen konnte, und das bereits in der ersten Stunde.
Wir hatten vorher schon eine einzelne erfolglose Surfstunde in Australien. Prageeth hat uns sofort alles dort Gelernte vergessen lassen und mit seiner Anleitung hat das Surfen dann auch sehr schnell geklappt!
Auch der Rest vom Team ist super nett und wir haben die Surfstunden und das gemeinsame Abendessen danach sehr genossen!
Das Frühstück am Strand war ebenfalls klasse und lecker und reichlich angerichtet.

Super Beginnerkurs
Pragee hat mir mit sehr viel Geduld die Basis des Surfens beigebracht.

Absolutely great!
I was in the surf camp for two days with a friend and we could not be happier with our stay. Everything was taken care of: very nice accommodation right on the beach and next to the school, excellent breakfast on the beach, individual lessons (or with two people of the same level), which was great as a beginner!. Prageeth and all the staff were great, and everyone around was very chill and friendly. The bay is beautiful and perfect for surfing, especially if you are a beginner. 10/10

4 Day package
I took seven Lessons and it was great to learn step by step how to pop up and get a feeling for the board and the waves. Pragee was so patient, polite and funny and had always a smile on his face. They prepare breakfast like u wish. I had a really good time. Thanks for everything!

Best place for beginners
We had an amazing week doing the surf course at surfers paradise in Weligama.
Pragee is the best teacher you can wish! Very patient, competent and funny. He took care of all out wishes concerning accomodation and arranged everything. We had very much fun, learned a lot and will always come back to Weligama and the surfers paradise. Huge recommendation!

Best place to learn surfing & enjoy in Weligama
Pragee is the best instructor for a beginning surfer, he helped with everything and teaches you all you want to know about surfing (especially for your next surfing experiences after the surf camp).
The hostel is so lovely, the staff are awesome and the breakfast was amazing.

Surfers Paradise Weligama
Pragee was friendly, knowledgable and pitched the lessons really well to my skill level.
The beach is nice and conditions are ideal for learning.
Coco Hostel has a really relaxed atmosphere and is a great place to stay and spend time while not surfing.

Outstanding surf camp !
There was a good spirit, the staff was smiling always and was very helpful in any ways you needed. Food at The hotel restaurant was excellent. Would easily come back again! Pragee was incredible good, always smiling and funny. Teached a first timer to surf green waves with a hard board just in two days :D!

Offseason: Guter Surfkurs aber eher dürftige Unterkunft
Durch die Offseason war ich einer der einzigen Kunden in der Surfschule. Ich hatte Einzelstunden mit Pragee, der sich sehr viel Zeit genommen und ich somit immer direkt nachfragen konnte etc.
Auch sonst habe ich die meiste Zeit am Strand bzw. an der Surfschule verbracht. Wirklich eine sehr nette Truppe.
Kurzum der Surfkurs war super!
