You will stay in dormitory beds at a local surf hostel. The friendliest hostel on the west coast, right on the edge of the Atlantic ocean, Lahinch Surf Hostel is the perfect place to start exploring Ireland. Lahinch Surf Hostel is located at the top of the main street, steps away from shops, bars, restaurants, and nightclubs.

The accommodation is quite spacious and has a great selection of different types of rooms. They have a lounge and a kitchen / dining area for all your cooking needs, as well as an open-air rooftop barbecue and a picture perfect view of the now world famous Lahinch Beach and its many visiting surfers.

  • Check in any time after 11 a.m. at Lahinch Surf Hostel
  • Orientation of the hostel and beach area with out front information about the tides and surf conditions for your stay
  • Breakfast in the morning from 7 a.m. - 11 a.m.
  • Lessons take place 3 hours before and after low tide. Outside of this time, there is no beach so Moher Surf changes your lesson times accordingly every day
  • After lessons, Moher Surf likes to have a chat about how it went and what to work on for the next lesson and look at pictures / videos to assist in progress
  • If you want to take a trip to the cliffs or other scenic spots or go stand up paddle boarding, Moher Surf can usually arrange this in the evening or for sunset
  • Check out is 11 a.m.

This surf camp will take place in Lahinch, Ireland. Lahinch is a small rural town sheltered from the wild Atlantic storms at the end of Liscannor Bay in County Clare. Surfing has become increasingly popular along the two-kilometer stretch of golden sand over the past decade or so, giving life to the growing local surf culture. The main street has a host of fantastic pubs with a friendly atmosphere, indulged upon by locals and visitors alike. Kenny's Bar is the favorite haunt with live music seven nights a week in summer and arguably the best Guinness in town.

Only 10 kilometers away over the hill, at the foot of the cliffs of Moher, the port town of Doolin offers passage to the miniature and timeless land of the Aran Islands, where life moves at its own pace and Irish is still spoken among the local folk. Inland, the scenery turns into a sparsely vegetated but beautiful land of limestone rock, craggy cliffs, and deep caves. In the Burren, you can walk along the natural pavement of karst rock and see signs of its ancient beginnings 300 million years ago as a tropical seabed, before happening upon a portal tomb like Poulnabrone, a burial site for the ancient neolithic Irish hunter-gatherers.
