Bali Pro Camp is a limited numbers camp to allow for that dedicated time that you can only receive in small numbers. The camp sleeps up to eight surfers and most of the rooms are twin share. There are two private rooms which can be pre-booked and are given out on a first come first serve basis. The rooms are very comfortable and airy such as they are located on top of the southern hill in Balian and find that everyone enjoys the breeze that blows through all rooms, though there are fans if needed and all beds have mosquito nets.

The bungalow style accommodation is on the hill at Balian, directly overlooking the ocean and all of the breaks the area has to offer. You will be just a walking distance to the waves and all the cafes and restaurants around the area. All rooms offer a fantastic breeze being that they are situated on top of the hill and they have found there is no need for A/C, though they do offer fans and mosquito nets in all rooms, along with hot water and Wi-Fi. There are twin share and single rooms which will be allocated upon request due to the small numbers for each camp.

The Yoga Shala is located above the kitchen, looking directly at the breaks you have just surfed or are about to. No better way to start the day than with a pre-dawn stretch while the sun is coming up, lighting up, pumping waves that you are about to hit with your fellow campers. The kitchen is a communal affair with the focus on locally grown healthy food. Bali Pro Camp does not run a menu as such, though the cooks will create mouthwatering vegetarian dishes using the freshest ingredients available each day and are happy to include meat upon request. Please do mention any dietary requirements when booking as they can cater for most needs if given the appropriate heads up.

Campers will no doubt enjoy finishing off the day in the infinity pool looking directly at the waves you have been slaying all day. There is no better way than to finish the day around the pool or yoga shala with the coaches going over your video analysis of the day’s events.

Why you should join Bali Pro's Six-Day Camp:

  • The only dedicated performance camp in Bali
  • Strictly for intermediate to advanced surfers means the coaches are not spending time on beginners
  • Focus on healthy organic food mostly grown onsite
  • All surfers will receive certification for completing the breath hold/surf apnea course
  • Video analysis of all surfs and one-on-one sessions with the head coach
  • Amazing sunset yoga/stretch session each afternoon
  • Up to three daily surf sessions (Yo will surf wherever is best for the group)
  • Surf skate training off-site

During this six-day camp, you will work on all aspects of your surfing from board choice, turns, duck diving, speed, flow, control to paddle, strength, and recovery. You will be working with accredited local and international coaches that have experience working with some of the world's past and present top professional surfers.

You will have a video analysis of each surf and daily one-on-one time with the coaching staff where they will point out areas for improvement and technique correction to assist you to reach your surfing goals. All participants will take part in the breath hold training course for which you will receive a certificate upon completion.

Bali Pro Camp has had amazing feedback from all surfers who have taken the breath hold/surf apnea course, stating it was one of the highlights of the week, giving them the confidence to take on bigger waves and stay calm during wipeouts. You will also be spending time on land with strength, balance, and surf skate training while rounding out the day with a sunset yoga session in the purpose-built yoga shala that looks directly over the waves in Balian.

Daily itinerary

Your day will start with a morning stretch and/or meditation. You will typically make the most of each day rising with the sun to enable you to surf the best conditions before the wind and other surfers wake up. Following your early surf, retreat back to the amazing kitchen/dining rooms that look straight over the waves you have just been surfing.

Following your healthy homemade breakfast, you will generally have some down time before moving on with the day's activities. During your six-day stay, you will spend time on balance boards, surf skates, slack lines, among other activities that will work on your core strength and balance out of the water. Each surfer will be allocated a daily time to sit down and go through each surf's video analysis with head coach Tony Pope and be given points to work on for the next surf.

Midweek, all surfers will complete the breath hold/surf apnea course which is around four hours with master freediver Shane Tierney. You will also work on daily mobility exercises which will help free you up from all that surfing and on most days, you will wind down before dinner with a sunset yoga session.

Balian is located around two hours from the Ngurah Rai International Airport (DPS) in Kuta and around 45 minutes from Canggu. Balian is one of the last remaining hamlets of Bali that is secluded enough that the line up is never that crowded and even when there are a few surfers in the water, the vibe is usually super mellow. It's one of those special spots that has not been overrun by tourists and has that feeling of the old Bali. There are three waves right in front of the camp which tends to spread any crowd and it is also surrounded by endless setups including the long left-hander of Medewi which is only 30-minutes to the north.

Known as the "Island of the Gods" and a tropical adventure paradise, Bali is abundant with ancient culture via beautifully crafted stone temples and traditionally farmed rice terraces amongst dense jungle, juxtaposed to the new world entertainment in adventure sports, shopping, and hospitality spawned by a well-established tourism scene. Featured in many books, magazines, TV shows, and movies, Bali is a destination unlike any other.

Bali is a popular tourist destination, which has seen a significant rise in tourists since the 1980s. Tourism-related businesses make up 80% of its economy. It is renowned for its highly developed arts, including traditional and modern dance, sculpture, painting, leather, metalworking, and music. The Indonesian International Film Festival is held every year in Bali.

You are guaranteed that the food will be one of the highlights of your week and you will leave feeling amazing after a full week of surfing, training, and the amazing organic food.
