We actually stayed at Dale's other houses and rooms just as you enter the towns beach front street (green gate) because I was traveling with my girlfriend and another non surfing couple so this suited us more and in my view a great alternative if the lodge is booked out or not suited to non surfing partners or family members, etc. We stayed in the very clean and comfortable two bedroom house which has great little kitchen to cook up the daily catch with all utensils provided. Dale was genuinely down to earth, accommodating and helpful and his staff are very friendly with room cleans every day or so. The property itself is amazing, Bon fires out the front at night time, heaps of surf options to walk to,very safe and secure, consistent power and water, outdoor showers, hammocks and birds chirping in the trees all day while the waves crash against the shore (heavenly!). I did not stay at the surf lodge but I met Kai one of the surf guides and he was really friendly and great to chat with in the surf. I recommend the two bedroom house to surfers, families, couples, friends who want to come to playa Gigante for both surfing and a excellent value for money beach lifestyle get away. Thanks Dale and Co! From Tim and Taylor.
I usually surf Costa since I have family that lives in Playa Hermosa. Wanted to check out Nica. Heard about bad crowds. Decided to do the boat-thing. Chose Dale Dagger...now I'm hooked.
Dale Dagger is a great deal considering everything they do for ya. I'm probably done with Costa for now and will head back to Dale Dagger from now on due to the overall ease. When we were down there in March, aside from to/from the airport, we never rode in a car once. Straigh chillin at the lodge, on the boat finding waves, or cruising around on dirt bikes. Mike and Kai facilitated everything.
I felt like my business was sincerely appreciated and all the staff went the extra mile, the whole time, to make sure we were comfortable and having a great time. By the time we left, we felt like we had made new lifetime friends.
Forget Popoyo or the other overcrowded spots. Choose Dale Dagger and you won't be disappointed.

We loved staying at Dale's, from comfortable pillows to good screens, it was all good. It was nice to have a shared kitchen which we used for making two meals a day. Having the sound of the surf be your background music was wonderful. We stayed for nearly a month and we're sad to leave.

The owner and crew of Dale Dagger Surf Lodge showed my father and I a magical time. From the knowledgeable and friendly guides to the home cooked meals prepared with love by Walter's wife Maria, everything was first class. Most importantly, thanks for putting us on waves that could accommodate all skill levels and charge factor, there was something for everyone! Thanks again, can't wait to come back and I am ready to pre-order a Walter bobble head, talk about perma grin!!

Met four other friends at the Managua airport, we all came from different places in the United States. The whole booking process was smooth and they took care of all logistics for the whole crew. All done through email, quick responses, easy deposit, just perfect. We arrived in Managua, the driver was holding a sign with our names, we jumped on this futuristic, clean shuttle for a two-and-a-half hour drive to Playa Gigante. Got there at one p.m, had an amazing lunch already waiting for us and then they took us by boat for our first session through sunset. Then an awesome dinner. Mike, Ronnie, Kai, Walter and Maria are such an awesome team! We felt like part of a family, too much fun. The lodge is extremely clean, well organized, very well maintained, all amenities we have back home, food is delicious and abundant, both boats are top-notch. Oh, and all included. We all have families and no time to plan the details of the trip and Mike and crew took care of everything for us. Our job was to eat, surf three sessions a day (about 8hs of surfing every day) and sleep. Tough one. Definitely coming back. Thanks Mike and your awesome team!

Came down from east coast with five guys and only had three and a half days to surf. Mike, Kai, Ronnie, Captain Walter and Maria were amazing. Everything was totally dialed in. Fresh fruit for breakfast, hop on boat for morning sessions, back for warm breakfast of eggs and rice and beans, second morning session, back for amazing lunch, afternoon session until the sun set than a huge family style dinner. We logged five to eight hours per day and it was amazing. These guys knew exactly what was breaking and when. Never spent a minute hunting for waves and maximized our time in the water. Perhaps a tiny bit more expensive than other surf lodges but worth every single penny.
