"Great fun well organised collection from Costa Teguise, and who would have known - warm water ! Really enjoyed it, quite hard for the kids as not much time between waves on the day we were there (early May and very windy) but nice bunch of guys and well organised, helped me a lot and ironed out a few of my standing problems ! Laid back but conscientious and watchful!"

"It was my first time surfing and I had a great time on a 1 day course. The instruction was professional and friendly and the group was small (5 of us). We also rented a kite board from them and it was good quality and a good price. Value for money was great and I would definitely go back."

"We did a one day course to try surfing two weeks ago. Coaches came across as enthusiast and passionate about teaching. But close to the end of the session I had a bad fall trying to stand up on the board in a place with low water. The coaches did not seem to care too much and I just thought they were underestimating the accident. The pain was getting worse and worse and I had to go the hospital for a check, and pay a bill for that. Now, two weeks after, the area is still very painful and I can't do any kind of exercise. I will need at least two or three weeks more to recover. I wrote to the school asking about that insurance that was supposedly included in the price, just in case it could cover the hospital bill. They didn't answered. I don't know if the coaches did anything wrong or not by advising to learn in low water areas or not advising about the risks of falling there. But I think the school should at least try to be helpful once an accident happens. Disappointing. Update: after costanoroeste replied to our original review, I wrote to them again and this time they kindly answered and made me a transfer covering the cost of my hospital bill. Just to make it clear: I had clearly reported my pain to the coaches both just after falling and also at the end of the session (falling actually meant the end of the session for me). Thanks for the transfer."

"If you're looking for a good surf school in Lanzarote, this is the right spot! Good equipment, punctual pick-up, friendly surfing coaches who take care of everybody (they even bring sandwich and water for lunch:)), nice methodical approach for beginners. Advanced surfers will get some advice where to find the bigger waves. I spent only a week in Famara but I will definitely come back."

"One of the greatest trips ever I've taken. Costa Noroeste surf school was so much fun, and everyone who works at the surf camp treats you like an old friend. My wife learnt so much and made some progress with her surf skills. At the same time I had perfect offshore waves with the owner Santi in San Juan and La Santa! Also my kids (3, 5 and 7 years old) had so much fun playing on the endless Famara beach. The food was fantastic as well. The accommodations were well maintained, very clean, and even the neighbours were nice! Highly recommend this to anyone who wants to surf and spend the holidays with friendly people!"

"During my last holiday we booked a half day lessons at Costanoroeste. Vanessa is the key to a very good experience...she was very nice to us and booked a lesson with an Italian teacher for my boyfriend renting as wet suites and lycras very clean and functionable. The wonderful was the beach and the right day to catch longboard waves...also thanks to a very good teacher, Niccolo."

"The surf school is very good, with very helpful staff and very good instructors. The sleeping rooms/ houses are in good condition and have everything you need. All is very chilled and cool. We had car rented from the airport and travelled around the island every day after surfing session, which is recommended because there is not much else to do in the village."

"We stayed in the very nice Surfhouse in the "center" of Famara. Very nice room and cool Terrace with a beautiful view over the sea. Although we didn't have such great waves, we had a really good time! The surf instructors are really talented and friendly. Also you get a nice "bocadillo" at the beach if take surf lessons from 10:00-15:00."
