We took a family vacation on a cruise ship and did standup paddleboarding in Costa Maya. Everyone had a great time and some commented that they could do this all day. We also opted for the drone photos which the family really liked. It was a little strange getting there but it was not a problem. There are a lot of things to do once you get there like shopping, massages, hair braiding, etc. Make sure you bring small bills because no shop around will break down money. All in all, everyone really liked it and it was easy enough for everyone to do. I did not feel comfortable standing up right away so I just paddled on my knees for a while. Then when I got the feel of the water, I stood up and it was no problem at all.

One of the best experiences from our week long vacation in Costa Rica! It was so tranquil with the surrounding nature and, yet, a fun and adventurous way to be with the entire family with different athletic abilities.
My husband and I did the private boat tour with standup paddle boarding and snorkeling. This was such a fun day! They picked us up from our hotel in their boat and we had a fun boat ride around the peninsula- we even had a school of dolphins chase our boat for about 10 minutes! They took us to some cool secluded beaches where we could see caves and collect sea shells. I loved the stand up paddle boarding and my husband loved the snorkeling, but because it's a private tour, we could decide how long to spend on each activity. This is a bit of splurge price wise, but definitely worth it! It was one of our favorite adventures from the trip!
I have traveled to Costa Rica 2 other times for surfing. This was my best experience by far. I can't think of anything about the trip that could have been improved upon. Marco pays attention to every detail and insures that you will have a good experience. I traveled with a friend who did SUP and I rode a long-board....

I was on holiday in Costa Rica earlier this year and our hotel put us in contact with Nicolas for surf lessons. Nic was great! He picked us up from bungalow hotel near the beach, set us up with boards, and introduced us to our instructor for the day. The wind was strong causing for very choppy water (not ideal for learning how to surf), so we ended our lesson 30 minutes early. Nic told my friend and I to meet him in the next morning since we couldn't do more on that day, so that we could finish out our lesson. The next day was bright sunny skies, I got even more time surfing than I bargained for!
