Mor Meluka

Mor started surfing at the age of six at his home town and joined the contests circuit at the age of 13. After wining three junior titles, he went to try his luck on the European professional junior tour. A couple of good results led him to join the world junior championship in Australia to mark a satisfying junior career. Mor started to teach surfing at the age of 16 while combining surfing around the globe. With surfing and teaching in places like Australia, Tahiti, and Denmark, he is using all the experience he collected to create a perfect comfortable zone for surfers at all levels.

Vahineura Itchner

Vahine started surfing at the age of 24. With a background of a sea lifeguard and a swimming teacher, she found a very quick path to the world of surf teaching. Today, living with her family in Klitmoller, she is surfing on the cold waters of the north sea during the winter and when summer arrive, she doesn’t hesitate to take her two daughters to catch few waves on the local reef.

"Sweet memories of our first true surfing experience! Great ambiance, great teacher and great waves for starters. We planned a road trip to and through Denmark, departing from the Netherlands. In the weeks before departure we had been doing some research on surf and other outdoor activities, as we were told that Denmark has some top surf spots. Pretty soon we came across Cold Hawaii’s website and Facebook page. Particularly the photos and messages on Facebook got us excited, so we decided to make it our trip’s finale. Cold Hawaii Surf Camp also has a shop, lunchroom, Bed & Breakfast, and serves great coffee. Mor and his wife Vahine have done great job at making you feel comfortable, the place breaths surf, it’s ‘hyggeligt’ and cheerful. A place we’d love to return to one day, or perhaps for a whole week. We booked a reasonably priced course which would last for an hour and a half. I’m pretty sure we got at least that amount of time on the water. Add up time for preparation, on-shore instructions and ‘debriefing’, free beverage and t-shirt, and rental of all required gear, this is definitely good value for money. Mor Meluka, the owner of Cold Hawaii Surf Camp and our teacher for the day, he knows how to make it a fun and educational surfing experience. Even if the weather conditions didn’t seem perfect at first, he got us hooked to surfing. He’s friendly, says he talks a lot, but he definitely seems to know what he’s talking about. Although it was our first time on a board, he got us into the water and onto the waves straight after the on-shore instructions and practise (basic techniques, safety precautions, etc.). It is said that many schools have their first-timers merely pedaling around for a day before catching their first waves. It didn’t take long until we managed to ride our first waves, and it felt great!"
