Surfing is meant to be fun but Cli Surf Morocco is very serious when it comes to your safety and well-being. All the Cli Surf surfing instructors meet the requirements for safety and training as determined by the Moroccan Association of Surf Instructors. The surf instructors also hold certificates for standard first aid and lifesaving, so rest assured that you are in safe and capable hands.
Cli Surf Morocco has been established for six years. The curriculum covers all the surfing essentials, from water safety, learning to stand up right through, to perfecting your cutbacks. With a number of years spent developing an effective surfing program in combination with the professional surf instructors, you’ll be riding waves in no time.
This program is designed for people who have never tried surfing or have had an old surf lesson here or there. You will learn the basics on the shore, followed by testing your balance and handling in waist deep water. From here, the instructors will teach you about beach safety, board handling, and reading the ocean conditions. Then, you can put your skills to good practice and test your pop up and stopping safely in white wash waves.
Some people get it on the first go; others take a little longer to get the knack of it. The trick is not to get disheartened. If you continue to have fun, you’ll eventually get it. Once you graduate from here, you’ll learn more about paddling (and techniques that make it easier), surfboard control, weight distribution, faster takeoffs, and surfing etiquette. Once equipped with these basics, you’ll be ready to learn about wave selection and catch the green waves in no time.
After the first session of surfing, the groups are divided based on the ability to ensure you get the most out of your lessons. Cli Surf Morocco also takes photos while you’re out in the water, so you can review your technique with the instructors or simply keep them as a memento of your trip.

This surf camp is situated in the peaceful village of Taghazout Bay in Agadir region of southern Morocco. Taghazout Bay is a unique peaceful town on Morocco's southern Atlantic coast. The west oast of Morocco is a dream surfing destination. With a non-stop source of Atlantic swell and a constantly changing shoreline of exposed and sheltered point breaks reefs and beach breaks, you're never far from the best waves that suit your level. Whether you're looking for the challenging reeling ten-foot points or the perfect waves to learn on, Morocco has them both.
Taghazout is internationally famous amongst beach travelers for its simple decor, easygoing and relaxed atmosphere, good people, and world’s best surf spots. It's the closest place for any European surfer to get all the year round warm water and weather conditions with perfect waves and a unique cultural experience.
Taghazout has huge popularity and been on the hippy track since the 60s and surfers have been riding the waves that peel down its legendary points breaks ever since. The Moroccan authorities have made efforts to make the tap water meet World Health Organization standards. Very few people who drink tap water in Morocco experience problems. To avoid any risk of falling ill on your holiday, Cli Surf Morocco suggests you to only drink bottled water.
In restaurants, you are generally safe. However, you should be wary when eating from street food stalls. Ice in drinks is as fine as brushing your teeth with tap water. As a Moslem country, most people in Morocco do not consume alcohol. However, alcohol is available throughout Morocco. You can bring a limited amount of alcohol through the airport or duty-free and boozy drinks can be legally sold and served from certain supermarkets and bars.
Please note that Tamraght and the surrounding villages are dry towns, which means no alcohol is served. If you’re looking to go out for a drink, you’ll need to head to Agadir. Alternatively, Cli Surf Morocco do not mind if you bring your own few drinks back to the camp.
