Beautiful spot. May need a 4x4 during the rain season because if the steep dirty road. The best place to stay in the area. Highly recommend. Staff is kind and helpful. Room is comfortable and spacious. Everything well maintained.

The Castillo is hands down the best place to stay in Pavones. You get all the amenities you'd expect from a luxury b&b while still experiencing the unique surroundings. I suggest the Aves room, two of its walls are glass and surrounded by jungle. It is truly one of a kind!

First off I'd like to say this place was amazing! Great room with a beautiful view . The staff is very friendly. No complaints at all !

However it is little ways sways from the surf So if your planning to stay there make sure you have your own transportation.

Other than that I give it a 5 star rating

Great place to stay... just far enough from town and surf that you feel immersed in nature, but close enough to be able to walk (though note, it's a 10 minute walk, including a large hill). Staff very friendly. Breakfast was a bit on the small side (for surfers with large appetites), but not bad. Air conditioning didn't work well, but management made every effort to fix it and even provided a discount for our troubles. I'm sure it's fixed by now! I will certainly be returning. Thanks Michael!

The room was large. King bed, very comfortable. The bathroom was amazing. Rock sink, and shower. Double occupancy spa bathtub. The view is outrageous from the bar. Everyone was nice, Michael helped me find the place. Waze took us down roads we couldn't get to in our small rental car. I recommend a 4x4.

My wife and I stayed for two weeks and loved every minute of it! The grounds are incredibly well maintained, the room was fantastic and the staff was incredible. Mike and Jessica went above and beyond to make our stay very memorable. The room was very comfortable, with excellent air conditioning, great bathroom, good TV, and internet. Breakfasts' were an amazing treat each day with beautiful views, good food, and friendly conversation. Evening drinks on the uppermost floor lookout were breathtaking. An enjoyable experience worthy of repeating.

Room Tip: The Jungle room offers jungle canopy views and ocean views, an amazing treat.

Loved this place. Amazing ocean views in a peaceful area with animals all around. The rooms were top notch and so was the staff. They really went out of their way tp take care of us. The mangers Mike and Jessica were super accommodating to us extending even though the main hotel was full. I did private yoga with Jessica on the top level outdoor deck - amazing!

Made a last min booking and was very pleased with the accommodations. Internet was great. Proximity to the first peak was reasonable for a pre dawn walk. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast every morning was perfect for a post surf session.

We were there for 2 nights with friends. We only met Michael and he was extremely helpful and very friendly. We stayed in La Jungla room and I agree with previous reviewers that it is very spacious. The refrigerator was very much appreciated. The Rio Claro is a 10 minute hike from the B&B & they provided nice tubes for us to use to float downstream. The breakfast was good & filling. We enjoyed the upper level & would have liked to have gone up there at night. The scarlet macaws were not around while we were visiting. On Michaels recommendation we ate dinner one night at Ronitals, which has grilled items. Your choice of beef, ribs, chicken or fish for 5000 colones. Bring your own beer or wine. The second night we ate at Bruschettas which we chose for the neat location.

We had a car but if you don't, it is an easy 10 minute walk to the beach or restaurants.

Just fantastic in every regard. We loved the rooms (very clean and well appointed), the staff (extremely accommodating - even going out to dinner with us at a wonderful, local restaurant), the service (well above-average) and the views ( beautiful.) Just a short walk down the hill to a lovely beach well-known by serious surfers. We were 100% pleased with our stay.

Our room was amazing, and it had an absolutely breathtaking view of the jungle leading up to the ocean. Rolling over in the morning to see this view never got old - it was truly paradise.
