Cape Point is a fully owner-run and operated surf and yoga camp at the heart of the best waves in Cape Town. They care about what they do and they love to meet people coming from around the world to stay with them! They focus on quality and having an awesome time, therefore, they take a maximum of six people at a time. They find and surf the waves that match your experience and if you want, they also do amazing yoga in the self-built studio. After surfs and on lovely days, you will also be shown around Cape Town and the amazing sights that are right on your doorstep!
There are three different accommodation options in the surf yoga house. This keeps groups relatively small (no more than six people at a time) so that you can be provided with the best quality experience. Cape Point thinks you will find that you have become a part of the family very quickly! Along with these rooms is a kitchen where they create awesome meals for you.
You are welcome to keep specific goodies in the fridge and help yourself to tea and coffee in the kitchen anytime. There is also a communal lounge area with an awesome view and fireplace; there will often be movie nights or screen the latest surfing feature films. The outside veranda is the chill out jacuzzi zone where you can sip on some cold ones and make traditional South African braais (barbeque).
Shorey is a little shared twin room with one bunk bed. It holds a maximum of two people. Although it is small, it is still very comfortable, stylish, and has a lot of love. It is also kept extremely clean! Inside the room is a cabinet to store clothes and personal items. There is also a personal little shelf next to each bed with a bedside light and USB charging ports for your mobile phones and cameras. Across the passageway is the shared bathroom. This is also kept extremely clean and has a toilet and a shower/bathtub.
Mid-break is the middle room down the passageway. It is also a small room but it is very beautiful with the homemade stylish surfboard art on the walls. Each side of the bed has its own little shelf with USB charging ports. The room has plenty of storage for all your belongings and is nice and private, perfect for a couple or the surfing traveler who appreciates their own space. The shared bathroom is just across the passageway where you will find a very clean shower/bathtub and toilet.
Backline is the king’s suite! This is a big room with its own en-suite bathroom with toilet and shower. It has a comfortable queen size bed and is adorned with stylish decor. Backline also has its own private entrance from the outside of the house and plenty of storage space. There are also bedside pedestals for storage and plug points with USB charging points conveniently placed next to each side of the bed. This is a great option for couples.
This is the soul of the surf camp! This is a great veranda and deck with mountain and distant ocean views. There also is a luxurious whirlpool jacuzzi with a stunning sunset mountain view. On this veranda, you can chill, eat, drink, laugh, and make big South African braais (barbeque).
To have a surreal yoga experience, it helps to create an environment conducive to the energy you desire. It has been a long time dream of the owners to build a space where you can find this inner peace, where you can let go, where you can be you.
Easy, you will wake up, drink super coffee, eat a gourmet breakfast then head down to the best beach of the day. Make a sweet beach setup, suit up, then surf. Then, chill for a bit and eat the tasty packed lunches and hit the waves again for round two! Drive home and maybe stop at an awesome food market or a great sunset spot on the way back.
If you want, you can do a sunset yoga class before having a delicious South African barbeque and enjoy a cold beer in the hot tub jacuzzi. If the weather is not so great for chilling on the beach between sessions, you will usually come back to the surf camp to have a super lunch and warm up again before braving the elements for another surf!
When you arrive, have a little sit-down and a chat to assess where you are in your surfing or yoga abilities. So whether you are a total beginner, an intermediate (level 2), or very experienced, Cape Point will make the best possible plan for you. Cape Point understands that everyone is on a different level and will make sure that you are not being held back by others or pushed beyond your abilities.
Remember, Cape Point only takes six guests at a time which makes the packages very flexible. So if you want to chop and change a few things, maybe stay a day more or a day less, or add a yoga session here or there, just contact Cape Point and they'll make a custom plan for you, they do not charge extra to make custom plans.
Raymond was born and raised on the South Coast of KwaZulu - Natal, South Africa and have been immersed in the ocean from birth and have made a life of competitive sailing and surf instructing in many surf camps around the world. This deep connection to the ocean, coupled with years of experience in hospitality and a degree in Communication Science, has led him to this dream that he and his wife are making.
Steffi was born and raised in a small village in Northwest Germany where she was put on a horse before she could walk! She gave up competitive horse riding to gather experience in hospitality and logistics before completing a degree in Micro-Economics. Steffi realized many years ago that her true passion lies within the enlightenment of body and mind through the practice of yoga and has been instructing ever since. After she got married, Steffi took the brave leap and permanently moved to South Africa to make her dream surf yoga camp come alive.
Cape Point prepares amazing food for you, daily, for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The Cape Point team puts a lot of love into their food and really hope that you enjoy it.
