We booked a full package for a week including yoga, surfing and a tent! It was our first week on Sri Lanka and it was a difficult one to move on after as we straight away fell in love with this place. It´s energy is so positive and relaxed. Ben, Till and the sri lankan family including "Mama" really give you the feeling you are coming to a home away from home. The tents are made for nature lovers. You can hear the monkeys and little squirrels, the birds and the wind. Really important fact: Extremely comfortable beds! And everything is surrounded by plants and palmtrees...just beautiful. Surfspots around the camp are available for every level. Within walking distance you´ll find "Sticks" and a beachbreak, which are both (depending on conditions) suitable for beginner to intermediate to pro. Within a 10 min TukTuk ride you´ll reach a bunch of different lefts, rights or beachbreaks. Ahangama for us was the perfect place to be. It isn´t too touristic but yet you get everywhere within 10-40 min by TukTuk or just 10 min walk into Ahangama village. We didn´t miss anything.

Yoga was very delightful and a perfect match with the surfing. Also the offered massages are great! ou can just totally be yourself at this camp, play music, draw, chill, read a book, sleep, play in the pool, play pool...so many options but you not gonna get bothered-all up to you. We got taught some Singhalese, hangdrum, drawing... Last but not least: food was insanely delicious!!! Breakfast is the best we could find on the island! I could go on like this for a while, but instead I just recommend go there yourself and check it out! We´ll be back for sure! Thank you Camp Poe family!!!

The best place I stayed while in Sri Lanka:) Ben and till and all the local staff are legends. Poe had a really good vibe going on with a fun mix of travellers. Food was great and it was central to many surf spots.

I couldn't have wished for a better place to do my first surf lessons, relax and calm down after travelling the isle of Sri Lanka. Ben and Till are great hosts - and the team surrounding them makes Camp Poe just a special place. Saying hi from Germany to Mama, Dominda and the rest of the lovely people! Hope to see you again soon!

A very special place! The camp is so beautiful, relaxed and full of creativity. Everything has been built with love. Ben and Till are great hosts, yoga and surf teachers, and all round wonderful people. They made me feel instantly at home, which was so lovely, especially travelling solo. What makes Camp Poe so unique is the connection with all the staff, who are so kind. Mama will invite you next door to her house for delicious lunch, you can get to know her children and immerse yourself in Sri Lankan life. They have a lovely relationship with Ben and Till, it really is a little family and I am very sad to leave after only a week. Definitely see you again Camp Poe, thank you!

My favourite place to stay in Sri Lanka! Ben and Till are fantastic hosts- totally embracing their Sri Lankan community so you really feel like your part of something bigger. Great sense of being a tourist while also being able to have a positive local impact. Mamma and her beautiful family next door are super welcoming and attentive, and put on fresh and authentic Rice and Curry everyday- the only way to eat in Sri Lanka! Ben will get you started with some Sinhalese, the kids always fill in the gaps. Yoga classes were fantastic- non- pretentious and as challenging as you want them to be. Awesome access to the waves on a completely flexible schedule, and plenty of boards to hire. I can't speak for the lessons...but the people who took them were better than me in all of about a day... The best place if your looking to meet people and have a real social, family style experience...the best place if your looking for space and chill, and want the time to yourself. Can't recommend it any more highly!!

These guys have something great going on here! Camp poe is just beautiful - lovely jungle-y gardens, amazing tents, super friendly staff, relaxing hammocks and pool, delicious breakfasts and dinners - all this and it's just a walk over a train line away from the beach and the main road, so very easy to get to. Ben was a great instructor for both yoga and surfing and very good at adapting the class to your level. I absolutely love the relationship Ben and Till have with their Sri Lankan family next door, who by the way will cook you the most delicious (and huge!!) lunch if you want! Thank you for a great couple of days, I wish we could have stayed longer!

P.s. Till - thank you for your advice about extending our visas, without that we might have ended up waiting 7 hours too!

Camp Poe wins as the best place I have ever stayed! It has an amazing homely atmosphere, I couldn't have felt more welcome and comfortable. The hosts were so wonderful and helpful, full of tips and tricks as well as organising some incredible activities. Camp Poe was beautiful and serene with clean facilities and an awesome communal area and great food was a massive plus! I couldn't fault one single thing ❤️

A little jungle oasis where you can enjoy a real Sri Lankan experience. Even in low season there was always plenty to do and see, including a boat tour of Koggala Lake, star gazing, lunch with the lovely local family next door, beach BBQ or just chilling by the pool. I stayed in a tent for the first few nights which was an experience like no other - you can hear monkeys in the trees above and the sounds of the jungle all around you! Then I was upgraded to one of the beautiful bungalows for the last couple of nights of my stay, which was dreamy :) thanks Camp Poe you're all legends!! Hope to be back again soon!

It's just a perfect place to chill, have fun, surf and enjoy good company. It's simply beautiful with its bungalows and tents surrounded by the real wild jungle (fireflies at night!) but at the same time very close to the town and really nice beach. Food is delicious, staff super friendly. Expect an amazing time with life music, pool parties and lot's of fun. Oh, and there's the cuttiest puppy ever living there! :) Enjoy!
