We had an amazing week of surf with the people of Calima Surf in the town of Famara. The conditions were very good the instructors are very good and the town is very nice. The accommodation is very close to the surfing spot within walking distance. We are booking it again to escape from London's winter!
My seven and eight-year old were really keen to try surfing and Calima Surf were amazing in their explanations and communications ahead of our lesson. I was confident that the boys' safety and enjoyment was paramount to them. We had the most fantastic afternoon. Anita was perfect with my boys, encouraging them, and helping them to catch a wave. They both stood up almost immediately and the two hours sped by. We went back again and hired wetsuits and boards as their choice of activity for our last day too. They've not stopped talking about it still! Thank you, Calima Surf.
The normal class schedule seems to be seven nights. However, Calima Surf School was very accommodating my request to go for a long weekend from Friday to Sunday in December. Early morning flight from London on a cold Friday morning, arriving in time for the afternoon class on a warm sandy beach in Lanzarote and full-day classes on Saturday. It was great! It was possible to hire equipment for Sunday and put your skills into practice. The team were very friendly, fun, and give great coaching tips. I'm looking forward to going back again soon! I wish I could have spent the full week and I would have learned so much!
Everything was perfect: the house, the rooms, the teachers, the staffs, the location, the waves, and the good vibes are in the wind of Famara. I came alone and it was amazing! Thank you, Calima team (Aleix, Sebas, Melina, Frederick, Manuel, Tito, and the others)!

Even though I came with a very open mind, my expectations were definitely exceeded. In one week, I feel like I had accomplished a lot in terms if improving my (beginner) surfing skills and knowledge. The teachers were so helpful. The apartment also gave me a great experience. I met people from all around Europe throughout all different parts of life, yet everyone was really cool and open minded.

It has been my first surf trip thanks to Calima Surf and we had a fantastic time. My big concern was if i would find waves but I could enjoy two meters tall waves when a northwest wind enter, what an unforgettable day! I learned a lot with surf monitors in a wonderful place.

After three days of school, I can't get enough of surfing! If it's possible, I'd return tomorrow to Famara with Calima Surf to do an entire week of school. They had such good people, good teachers, and the spot was something special!
