We took a short trip from our home in Playa Jaco to Cabinas Las Olas. Roche and his staff....especially Joseway...are fantastic!!!! Great to hang with the crew and learn about the many different types of breaks in Avellans. Super waves all the time and the cabinas are out of this world. The property is magnificent and the cabins are super clean and laid back. We went without the ac and were actually chilly at night in July. Met great locals and had many imperials at the bar. Food is good as there is not much in Avellans. The walk to the breaks each morning were amazing through the mangroves. The vibe is chill and the beaches are beautiful. We will definitely be returning to Cabinas Las Olas in the future. Gracias amigos for a Pura Vida time!!!

We were heading back to Costa Rica and exploring some other areas that we had not been to before. We knew that we wanted to make a stop at Cabinas Las Olas because we love everything about them and Playa Avellanas. We reached out to get availability and they responded quickly, let us know the status and we adjusted our trip accordingly. Because we wanted to explore some other areas of CR, we only stayed in Avellanas one night. It was like coming home and seeing life-long friends. From top (Roche) down, everyone here is so friendly. Memo and Miguel remembered us from our previous visits and they make you feel at home. Love those guys! One night, great beach, great people (made some new friends too). With out a doubt, we will be back! Pura Vida!

My husband and I and our two young sons just stayed here for a few nights. It was our first stop on our Costa Rica adventure and it was exactly what we needed. The cabins are simple and clean, the people who work there so warm and friendly and accommodating with my son's food allergies. The restaurant is great. I am missing my leisurely breakfasts of fresh fruit and coffee and listening to the sounds of the trees and the ocean. The boardwalk to the beach makes for a fun walk. The kids bonded with the monkeys. The beach is beautiful! All four of us were sad to leave and plan to come back and stay here next time we go to Costa Rica.
