Senior instructor and owner, Jayme Edwards is the brain and brawn behind Surf Camp Byron Bay. A pioneer of Australian surf education, Jayme has been teaching surfing since 1993 when he first took Uni groups on surf camps to the south coast of New South Wales. After teaching in Bondi / Sydney for more than a decade, Jayme took on the Byron Bay Surf School. In over 20 years, he’s taught tens of thousands of people how to surf and be ocean smart and remains passionate about introducing people to the incredible feeling of surfing their own waves which he tries to do when he’s not coaching!
A warhorse of the waves, lean, mean surfing machine known as Geoff is still entering and winning Surf Comps after spending years on the Pro’ circuits. Living in Japan for a long time has also given Geoff a distinct patience and courteous manner. With his own surfing expertise, you are guaranteed a surfing experience and carefully taught skills to last a lifetime. If you are lucky enough to complete a Surf ‘n’ Stay course with Geoff, you could indeed end up surfing like a pro just like him! This Gold Coast stalwart might even share some of his mystery surf spots with you.
Marko is a legend of the town and local surf education. There’s not much to surf instructing Marko hasn’t done or doesn’t know about. He has been teamed up with Jayme in Byron Bay for more than a decade to provide first-rate surfing lessons and ocean education to countless satisfied surfers. Marko’s local and international coaching / surfing experience in Portugal, Morocco, Sri Lanka and Indonesia has created the great all-rounder, a legendary party animal, and a true survivor of the surfing lifestyle. A passionate surfer himself, Marko’s larrikin ways will have you laughing in between waves.
The hybrid ‘bad boi’ brings his USA-German heritage to Surf Camp Byron Bay with stunning effect. Timmy’s big infectious smile that greets you at the registration desk, masks a hard core surfer who brings years of international surf instructing experience in California, Morocco, Spain, and Bali to your lesson or course of lessons. A keen surfer himself, Tim is passionate about people reaching their full surfing potential. But be warned, he does mistake dolphins for a shark and has trouble pronouncing some Aussie words.
