Buccaneer Resort has nine rooms comprising of 5 private cabanas, 2 beachfront bungalows, and 2 bedroom suites and you can choose to stay in one of the rooms. Each type of building has a choice of rooms with queen-sized bed or single bed.
Luis, who hails from Argentina, has surfed for 25 years and taught surfing for 10 years. He is bilingual and fluent in Spanish and English. Luis uses easy teaching techniques to help you learn the most physically demanding part of surfing and paddling. He also teaches his students about safety while in the ocean and proper surfing etiquette, as well as about weather and wave conditions and the necessity of showing respect for the beach, water, and environment.
Buccaneer Resort is located on the eastern shore of Carenero Island, a forested island in Bocas del Toro, where you can find some of the best beginner surf spots. This island is also surrounded by Colon Island, Solarte Island, Bastimentos Island, and other tiny isles, which you can clearly see from the resort.
This surf camp includes breakfasts, but Bibi's restaurant at Buccaneer Resort offers lunch and dinner that include a wide variety of salads, sandwiches, poultry, meat, and seafood entrees at an extra cost. This restaurant specializes in delicious seafood dishes made with locally caught lobster, fish, and shrimp.
You can book your flight to arrive at Tocumen International Airport (PTY). Then, get a taxi to take you to Albrook "Marcos A. Gelabert" International Airport (PAC) to catch your flight to Bocas del Toro "Isla Colón" International Airport (BOC) before 3-4 p.m.
There are two buses that depart from the Gran Terminal Nacional de Transporte, near the Albrook "Marcos A. Gelabert" International Airport (PAC), to Almirante, where you catch a water taxi to Bocas at 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily. There are also buses that depart from David to Almirante every hour.
If you are traveling to Bocas from the mainland, you must take a water taxi from the city of Almirante. There are two water taxi companies, Bocas Marine Tours and Taxi 25, that have boats leaving for Bocas every 30 minutes, from 6.30 a.m. to 6.30 p.m. The ride takes approximately 25 minutes. The Buccaneer Resort is a short, two-minute boat ride from Bocas Town.
