Broadbeach Surf School
Based in the heart of the Gold Coast, Broadbeach Surf School offers a fun, healthy, and safe surfing experience. Since 2006, they have been teaching surfing to people of all ages and abilities. They are a fully licensed and insured surf school, with experienced and qualified local surf instructors who are passionate about giving you the best surfing experience possible.
Private surf lessons
- Duration: 1.5 hours
The private lessons are popular with surfers of all ages and abilities. A private lesson ensures a more personal approach to your surfing experience, where the focus is completely on you or your group. And the lessons are completely tailored to your ability. Private lessons give you the flexibility to run lessons when conditions are best. Good conditions are often only during one time of the day so be prepared for your lesson time to change on the day you have booked your lesson. Daily itinerary
Day 1
Upon arrival, you will be met by your friendly, local surf guide and instructor, who will introduce you to your surf spot and discuss your surfing ability and what you will be hoping to do and achieve during your surf stay with Boulevard North Holiday Apartments. They will also discuss the surf forecast with you and determine a suitable time for your private surfing lesson and surf tour.
You will be checked into your accommodation and offered advice on the best restaurants and things to do in the area. If time permits, you have access to your surfing equipment, so you may wish to take a surfboard out and enjoy your first surf here in Broadbeach.
Day 2
Get ready to surf! Conditions pending, today is most likely the day you will have your first private surfing lesson. The lesson will be carried out during the most suitable time when conditions are best. The lesson is completely tailored to your skill level and surfing ability, and you will feel very safe surfing under the watchful eye of your surfing instructor. After your surf lesson, you can continue to surf or choose to explore the many attractions in the area.
Day 3
Get ready to surf! Your second lesson will be carried out today when the conditions are best. The focus will be on developing your surfing ability and building on what was taught in your first lesson. After your surf lesson, you can continue to surf or choose to explore the many attractions in the area.
Day 4
Get ready for your private surf tour. Today they will take you on a private half-day surfing tour, giving you a chance to explore and experience some of the best waves the Gold Coast and Byron Bay have to offer. Including Kirra Beach, Burleigh Heads, Currumbin Alley, Snapper Rocks, and Duranbah. The tour will be completely tailored to your preferences, surfing ability, and level of fitness. Your local guide will know what beaches will be most suitable for your ability, and what surf breaks will be best with current conditions.
Day 5
Get ready to surf. Your third lesson will be carried out today when the conditions are best. The focus will be on developing your surfing ability and building on what was taught during your previous lessons. After your surf lesson, you can continue to surf or choose to explore the many attractions in the area.
Day 6
Time permitting, have an early surf before checking out of your accommodation. This will give you a chance to practice what you have learned in your lesson and experience your beautiful beach one last time. This is where you say farewell. And ensure they have sent you all of the photographs they took of you during your surf lessons.
Instructors
Will Forgan-Smith
Will was born on the Gold Coast and grew up surfing Broadbeach. He has surfed his whole life and has over 10 years of experience teaching surfing to people of all ages and abilities. Will has traveled and surfed all over the world, but he still calls Broadbeach home! His other passions include backcountry snowboarding and hiking. Will has a degree in engineering and has worked in both the Mining and Construction Industry. But he is now doing what he loves most: meeting new people and sharing the joy of surfing.
Location
The camp will take place in Broadbeach, Queensland, Australia. The pristine sand bottom beach offers a variety of wave types for surfers of all ages and abilities. Broadbeach is blessed with waves all year round, and you are far less crowded than most other beaches on the Gold Coast. The water temperature rarely dips below 20 degrees Celsius, and you will regularly see dolphins, and whales during winter and spring.
The Gold Coast is also rich with world-famous surfing spots, which you may wish to explore during your stay. If conditions are not suitable for surfing in Broadbeach, there are several backup locations around the Gold Coast they can utilize to ensure they get you in the best waves possible.
