The highly consistent Indian Ocean south swells make Maldives one of the planet’s most consistent surf zones. On this surf camp, you can enjoy quality surfs every day. All waves peel mechanically over perfectly contoured coral reefs without the shallowness and danger found at many other surf destinations. The vessel, supplied with all imaginable comforts, will also allow you to have an unforgettable surf trip in Maldives.
The maximum participants in the group is 10.
During this retreat, you will stay onboard Anloran. Anloran is equipped with GPS, sounder, radar, and USB radio 16 channels. The large terrace on the up deck, where the covers of the surfboards are stored, is a perfect place to view the waves. As for safety, the vessel is equipped with life jackets and other safety facilities.
Anloran has 10 double bedrooms. Each room has a bathroom, air conditioning, individual spacious beds, and personal wardrobe. There is also a spacious living room with a dining table, comfortable sofas, TV, DVD, optional Wi-Fi, and an equipped kitchen.
On this surf camp, you will enjoy guided surf trips where you can ride the best waves of your life without fearing for your safety. Anloran will also run an onboard training program designed to help you improve your core strength and flexibility so you can surf to your highest potential every day of your holiday.
The program will help to minimize repetitive stress injuries, lower back pain and provide the maintenance that every surfer needs to balance out those long days in the lineup by utilizing the proven methods of body weight training and Pilates core strengthening techniques.
Snorkeling gears are also available. Snorkeling is one of the best ways to discover the hidden world of underwater right over the shallow reefs. Affluent aquatic species including tuna, groupers, barracudas, emperors, rainbow runner, trevally, squirrelfish, and various other vibrant fishes make Maldives one of the best places for fishing.
Fishing from the boat is also a great experience and makes you spend your free time onboard actively and excitingly. Anloran provides local stile fishing gears for free. However, it is important to remember that the government of Maldives strictly prohibits the hunting of whales and dolphins and the use of harpoon guns.
Andres has 20 years of experience in organizing surfing trips to major destinations worldwide. He speaks English, Italian, and Spanish.
This retreat will take place in Gaafu Dhaalu Atoll, Maldives. Maldives is considered as one of the best places in the world for underwater photography. The system of coral atolls and reefs can be described as an underwater city, where coral reefs interspersed with aquatic plants provide fish and other marine life in Maldives, a viable environment to live in and flourish.
Nearer the reefs, where it is safe to swim, you can see turtles, sea anemones, octopus, and eels. There are numerous species of fish that make up the marine life in Maldives. Some of the fish you can see in Maldives are Skipjack, also called Maldives Fish, Dogtooth Tuna, Butterflyfish, Sweetlips, Fusiliers and much more.
On most days, there are offshore winds with equal numbers of lefts and rights typically averaging from chest high to overhead. These warm water waves can be surfed on all tides so you can literally surf all day long.
This surf break requires speed. It is a long excellent left-hander that has two sections. It also has a pleasant thin, peeling, racing lip.
Cokes is a big wave tube spot. It has a steep barreling takeoff and a very shallow inside section that opens up more than the takeoff. The best condition is on mid to high tides. However, it can also be surfed at low tide if the swell is big enough.
Lohis is a good and hollow left-hander with two sections. It needs big southeast swells and high tides to work well.
Ninjas is a slow right-hander that is good for beginners and long-boarders.
Pasta Point is a perfect long left, which picks up more swell and is more consistent than any other break. ‘Macaroni Bowl’, a second tube section, which develops after the fast take off section, mellows out for a cutback.
Sultans is an excellent, long, world-class right-hander. It is one of the most consistent waves of Male’ Atoll, which never closes out, even on the biggest swells. The take-off is a steep outside peak called ‘Phantoms’, which slingshots into a very long walled super fast section called the ‘Pinnacles’, over four feet. All three sections can be thrilling. The rides are up to 150 yards.
Honky’s is a long left-hander break. It starts small and increases as it wraps 90 degrees around the island. There is a six feet wave on the take-off that will end up at least eight feet on the end section called ‘Fred’s Ledge’. There are long rides and tubes through all sections. It is best to be surfed on low tides unless the swell is huge.
Anloran's cook prepares 3 daily meals apart from the snacks between hours. For obvious reasons, fish, fruit, vegetables, meat, and pasta form the main part of the diet on board. Anloran offers Western food, Asian food, and typical Maldivian food so you can get to know more about the culinary culture of this country.
Anloran assures an ideal and complete diet to provide your energetic requirements. You will also enjoy a welcome drink and beverages (coffee, tea, and water). Special dietary requirements, such as for those who are vegetarian or have any allergies, must be requested in advance at an extra cost of 10 USD per person per day.
The best way to experience the ordinary Maldivian life is to visit the local islands. Some of these islands are slightly more modern with brightly painted house walls and harbor areas. There are also the quiet fishing villages with lots of tree shade, swings, and the traditional wooden holhuashi.
"Anloran is the best charter and has awesome staff who is very onto surf guide. The boat was big and very comfortable. I loved every second of it and will return to Anloran!"
