Blue Star Maldives Surf Retreat understand the importance of balancing the body with surf-specific training out of the water. Many people go home after their surf holiday with repetitive stress injuries and strains from the huge volume of time that surfers spend paddling in the water. In response to this, they created a specialized program for their guests to improve their core strength, flexibility, and joint mobility in the areas that surfers need it most.
Guests will stay in shared double rooms, females and males are roomed separately. Each room has its own shower and toilet and the bedding is either in bunks for singles, or double beds for couples (availability of double rooms is limited). Private room is available upon request for an additional 50% of the single room rate.
Morning mobility session are held on the roof of the boat. Surfers can usually surf from 06:00 to 17:30 everyday depending on the conditions. Surf sessions are planned around tide, currents, and the location of the boat. Meals are planned around surf sessions. Classes are held daily on the roof of the boat from 18:00 with a rotating schedule of yoga, Pilates, and surf strength and core conditioning classes everyday.
This is their home break in Himmafushi, and the most consistent when the winds are wrong in most of the other waves. A very long right hander that it works in all tides with different sections. A really fun wave!
Another long left-hander with two sections that incredibly grow during the ride. Better in low or middle tide.
It's an easy right-hander up to three foot that changes when it gets bigger to a powerful and barreling wave.
Left-hander exclusive for the guest of the resort, not that long, but good fun.
Most frequent wave for beginners and longboarders. It's an easy right hander with two sections, first slow, and second faster.
Exclusive left-hander for the guests of the resort Hudhuranfushi. Better rides in middle and low tide.
Probably the most hollow in the atoll. The ride is short but intense. It's a right-hander named after the Coca-Cola factory on the island.
Long and powerful left-hander with three sections, barreling with south swell direction, takes his name from an old chicken farm in the nearby island.
Depending on their location, Blue Star Maldives can also take surfers to visit nearby virgin islands and the local islands to explore.
This retreat will take place in North Male, Maldives.

Blue Star Maldives' menu is a combination of healthy local and foreign dishes designed to feed hungry surfers! Unlike other tropical countries, most of the food in Maldives is flown in from overseas due to the limited farming that takes place there (including some of the fruits). Despite this, they provide a balanced menu of fresh fish dishes, salads, Asian curries, chicken, vegetables, some popular western dishes, and home baked snacks. They are able to cater for food allergies such as dairy, gluten, and specific food allergies, however due to their limited kitchen space, they cannot guarantee that cross contamination will be prevented for severely anaphylactic allergies (for example; people with coeliac disease and chronic peanut allergies).
Surfers can go for snorkeling adventures anytime during the day as there are incredible coral and marine life at all of the locations where they surf.
Occasionally, they have a massage therapist on board, however this is not guaranteed. Depending on their location, it is possible to take guests to an island resort for them to have a spa treatment or a massage, this however is also not guaranteed.
