Greece

Located in southeastern Europe and at the meeting point of three continents (Europe, Asia and Africa), Greece borders Bulgaria and the former Yugoslav Republic of Macedonia (Fyrom) to the north, Albania to the northwest, and Turkey to the northeast. The western borders are formed by the Ionian Sea, the southern by the Mediterranean Sea, and the eastern borders by the Aegean Sea.

Greece consists of a peninsular mainland (extending from the southern region of Central Greece to the northern region of Thrace), the Peloponnesian peninsula that is separated from the mainland by the Corinth Canal, and an archipelagos of approximately 6,000 islands and islets.

The archipelagos scattered on the Aegean and Ionian Sea, of which 227 are inhabited. Most of them are located in the Aegean Sea and divided into seven clusters, including Northern Aegean Islands, Sporades, Evia, Argosaronic Islands, Cyclades, Dodecanese, and Crete. The Heptanese cluster is located on the Ionian Sea.

Athens

Athens is a perfect city-break destination and the best possible starting point for your trip to Greece. It is in many regards a typical modern European city. Some describe it indeed as “Berlin of the South” for its restless urban character and vibrant youth and others call it as the most “American” of all European capitals for the sense of liberty that it conveys.

Yet, Athens bears evident the traces of its varied history, from Antiquity all the way to the Ottoman Era, while at the same time retaining its Middle Eastern and Balkan flair. This is a melting pot that provides a true picture of what Greece and Greeks are like. Αs a matter of fact, most of Athenians still preserve strong ties with their places of origin, be it some remote village in Epirus (Northern Greece) or Peloponese or some isolated island of the Aegean.

You will savor the top-notch Greek traditional food on the first day of your arrival and you will also have your drinks at welcome and farewell parties. Light meals will be served after you have your surf session. Moreover, you will enjoy 3 dinners at taverns and restaurants.
