"Surf lessons - The primary reason why I joined. I was an experienced beginner coming into this and still learned a ton from the instructors. Even though I was a little more advanced than some of the other folks, they were still proactively giving me tips and pointers while giving me the space considering my experience. There were several instructors dedicated to various groups within the entire group which was extremely helpful. I liked the ratio of instructors to everyone. They also have a photographer snapping pics not just for purchase but actually to learn from. You'll review pictures to see what you need to fix, super helpful. Accommodations - Were pretty nice. The bedrooms were nice enough. I really enjoyed the design of the place. It's largely pretty open. There's a pool where we hung out after surfing. Eating breakfast outside was such a great way to start the day. Activities - It was such a great balance of surfing, chilling/relaxing, and then experiencing some other activities and the nightlife in San Juan Del Sur. Staff - They all make you feel super welcome. They're all super chill and you'll hang with them during the downtime."

"One word: amazing! Coaches are friendly, surf spots are speechless, the team and the villa so welcoming. Before my trip with Barefoot, I knew nothing about surfing, but now it's really becoming a passion. The villa is close to the charming village of San Juan del Sur, where there are many restaurants, nightclubs, and interesting shops. You will absolutely learn more during this one week than a full year, I really recommend you to book now and live the experience of your life!"

"Literally on the point in Montanita, Ecuador. Such welcoming, fun, and authentic surf trip. Our guides, Marie and Israel, were so accommodating and amazing, paring with the local surf pros/coaches I was so comfortable living on my edge. There was no judgement, no exclusion, just good vibes and good times. Not only did we catch some great waves, but also had the opportunity to see some of the diverse landscape and cultures of Ecuador. Our accommodations were perfect, and the food was great. Also, our group was good, it was so cool to see such an eclectic group of people come together for the love or curiosity of surf and totally connect. I would highly recommend this trip, might just change your perspective and your surfing. Seriously on point!"

"The trip was beyond my standards. I was surprised how qualified the surf teachers were, how good and friendly they were. They are in the water with you and you feel very safe to try some waves even if it's your first time surfing. They tell you exactly what to do before and on the wave (when you can hear them!). We stayed in a super villa and i kind of felt like in the movie "auberge espagnole", with lots of people living together. It's fun to be with people, especially when you travel alone, you can get along with some people in the group and hangout. It's very free, you can stay on your own if you feel like to, of go out in big group when you want. It's perfect for a beginner surfing learner that wants to meet with people!Everything is organized, you don't need to prepare your lifts, your lessons... They arrange everything and you also have free time during the day to do whatever you feel like, I encourage you to go for it!"

"I had the best time ever learning about surf techniques, vocabulary, mentality, and more. The coaches are excellent and very patient. We had just enough time to chill around and do whatever we wanted inbetween the surf lesson, such as shopping, beach, zipline, walk, and so on. I strongly recommend this trip. I'm telling you, you will not want to go back home."

"After a week's worth of waves, surf theory classes, and lessons with the reddest local surf guides, my little ocean heart is full. This was my first group trip and as a solo traveler I loved being around other like-minded, laid-back adventurers like me. We all stayed in a luxury villa in a very safe part of San Juan Del Sur. The beach was only a few minutes away and a walk into town only took about 15 minutes along the gorgeous bay in San Juan Del Sur. The best part of my week with Barefoot Surf Travel was how much I improved on my surfing. I had done a bunch of single surf lessons before all over the world and this was the first time I actually felt like the surf guides were instructing, critiquing, and pushing me to get better at surfing. With each day in the water, I was able to improve on all aspects of my surfing (wave reading, paddling, popping up, riding the wave, turning etc.). I also really valued the surf theory classes, which gave us the knowledge to seek out waves on our own without the need for a surf guide. If you're looking for a week of surf, palm trees, sunshine, cold beers, good vibes and great friends, I'd definitely recommend a trip with Barefoot Surf Travel!"

"I went to the Ecuador surf trip as a solo traveler and met amazing people on this trip. I loved absolutely everything about this surf trip and discovered a beautiful country. Our guide Marie-Christine was amazing sharing her experience in Ecuador and her passion about surf. The surf lessons with Israel, Mario and Carlito really help to progress fast. The surf instructors are professional surfers who appear in surf magazine. They don't push you toward a wave in order to paddle it and stand up, they explain how to read the ocean, know when it's a good wave and choose the right ones. Thanks to them I can surf by myself everywhere in world now. I strongly recommend this trip to anyone who wants to live surf."

"Perfect surf trip. Amazing people. Good trip to learn a lot about surf and to have fun at the same time. Not much to visit in Nicaragua but excellent for surf and amazing weather. Go with friends or alone and you will meet lots of good people. I will do another trip with them for sure."

"I was part of the first group to go to Ecuador with Barefoot. What was nice about this type of trip is that part of it is organized, such as rooms, board rentals, and transport, so that all you have to worry about is catching those waves. At the same time, the loose schedule allows for freedom to explore, find the perfect local restaurant, party, relax, or get your sun salutations on! The amazing surf guides, in my case Gab, Marie-Christine, and Israel are in the water with you for hours. However, on the contrary to most surf classes who push your board in the right spot and tell you to paddle for your life to make sure you catch a wave, Barefoot guides actually give you the 101 on reading the waves and the conditions, which is a must for progression. As a surfer with no experience before Barefoot, I can proudly say that thanks to them I am now able to rent a board on my own and catch waves around the world, just like on my last trip to Hawaii! Definitely recommend!"
