Program

On a wilderness adventure with Awarua Guides, the team will collect you from your Queenstown hotel or airport for an amazing scenic helicopter flight through the Southern Alps. You will fly past mountains, glaciers, lakes, and forests, to the incredible wilderness coastline and touch down in front of the Awarua base in amazing coastal Northern Fiordland.

During your stay, Awarua Guides will introduce you to some of New Zealand's most stunning coastal wilderness and all the activities that abound within this area.

You have a variety of hiking, kayaking, surfing, wild food gathering, freediving, and snorkeling, plus wildlife spotting; native bird life, wild red deer, and marine mammals.

Awarua Guides provides sea kayaks, surfing, and snorkeling equipment (as needed) plus stand-up paddle boards to help you enjoy your experience.

They won't join you on every outing, but they will give you guidance and direction to enjoy and experience the area in the best and safest possible manner.

You cook and dine together on the freshest and finest wild New Zealand cuisine. Accommodations and comfortable beds are provided in canvas safari tents in conjunction with Awarua Guides' unique wilderness cabin for an unforgettable, authentic wilderness experience in coastal Northern Fiordland.

At the completion of your visit, you have the helicopter return to whisk you back to Queenstown on another amazing alpine flight, with a smile and a great story to tell. Many people leave this Awarua Guides saying their experience was life-changing.

Awarua Guides look forward to hosting and showing you all the best remote Nothern Fiordland coastal wilderness.
