Local Kiama Rippa Elliott is one of AST's surf instructors. Having competed in the pro juniors for four years, he's not short of experience! You'll often see him having a cheeky surf before and after lessons.
Local surf guru Evan, some say he has spent 95% of his life in the ocean and he solely survives on a diet of seaweed and marine life washed down with some frothy barrels. As everyone knows, he is the Geeman!

The Bendalong Surf Camp was excellent! The tents and camp stretchers were surprisingly comfortable, food was delicious and abundant, staff were happy and knowledgeable. 10 out of 10. Despite rain we were comfortable all the time and I finally got some surf instructions to get me past my 10-year stagnation point. Happy kids, happy dad.

Never has there been a finer time or money well spent, than on the four-day and three-night Christmas surf camp with Australian Surf Tours. Doing a surf camp has always been on my list of thing to do, naturally, this led me to building up the whole scenario in my head, and I have quite the imagination believe me. I built up my expectations of what i believed a surf camp should be, and boy did Australian Surf Tours deliver! The campsite and its location is simply a very beautiful piece of Australia and the world, the peninsular upon which it sits allows 180-degree access to various beaches, allowing the best possible conditions for surfing to be optimized. There's the friendly resident kangaroos that regularly stop by to say hi and be fed before jumping off again. The whole vibe is just the perfect life in my eyes, sun, sea, sand, surf, hammocks and great company. All of the students at the camp were in similar situations, kind of like an orphans Christmas where everyone creates one big happy family :) All of this was orchestrated to perfection by the amazing staff at Australian Surf Tours. I found myself a part of the team by becoming CP for my driver Abby, the banter levels were high on these trips. My instructor, Ruben, was incredible, so much knowledge, and wisdom to pass on and of course patience with all of my questions. Ben, Max, and Vanessa, whilst they weren't my instructors, they did amazing jobs also with their groups and were all around great people. I have to mention Friso, Willy Nelson, and Jesse, these boys made our campsite that we called home for the holiday period, they cooked up a storm everyday to keep everyone satisfied and again, top blokes! We had an incredible photographer that helped capture those all important surfing "first steps", keeping memories forever. I want to shout out the man behind a lot of the organisation for the Xmas surf camp and that is Tom, all round diamond geezer that is genuinely pleased to meet you and in part any knowledge he can, or simply make your stay and experience a memorable one! All up! I can't recommend Australian Surf Tours enough, I've definitely caught the surfing bug from this motley crew, it's hard not too when they make it so infectious through their teachings and passion. I will be surfing again very soon and hopefully seeing some faces also, I feel as though I have made some good friends with Australian Surf Tours and for that I am grateful. Best Christmas ever!!! :)
It was one of the best weekends that I spent in Australia. We learned so much about Surfing. The teachers were patient all the time and always happy. The food was very delicious. A big thank you to Tom and his team.
