With Asu Camp you'll be surfing the perfect Indonesian waves of your dreams, but without the crowds. They are the only camp on Asu with a view of the wave and the sunset from your bungalow! Asu Camp is on the northernmost tip of the island, right in front of the action and the beauty of Asu, for the wave and for the sunset, it's the place to be.
The accommodation is made up of three bungalows. Each bungalow accommodates two people and can be set up with two single beds or one double bed. The bungalows are well spaced for privacy, with ensuite open air bathrooms, a real tropical vibration. Each bungalow features a large open air terrace with comfortable chairs and hammocks for taking in the view and relaxing when you're not surfing.
You will be surfing from a selection of 10 different waves in the area. Primarily Asu, out the front door, but you will also surf nine other waves, five of which are located in the Hinakos, and another four on nearby West Nias. Other than Asu, there are six rights and three lefts that work in different wind and swell conditions. The goal for each day is to surf where it's offshore.
You will arrive at Nias Airport and meet your car and driver for the 2.5 hour drive to the port harbor of Sirombu. Meet the speedboat in the port for the 30 minute crossing out to Asu Island. Spend 10 nights/11 days in paradise on Asu Island, waking up each day to check the surf and weather conditions.
Morning surf checks and after lunch surf checks are followed by surf sessions at Asu or excursions with the speedboat to one of 10 other waves in the area.

Check out on day 11 and return to the Nias airport to catch your departure flight.
It is easy to arrive and depart from Asu Island any day of the week and they do not run a set schedule, so you are free to come and go as your schedule allows.
They are located directly in front of the wave on the northern tip of Asu Island. Asu is one of 8 small islands 15 kilometers west of Nias Island in North Sumatra. It is a small slice of paradise.
Asu Island is one of eight small islands in the Hinako Archipelago, 10 kilometers west of Nias in North Sumatra, Western Indonesia. There are no roads on Asu, no electricity, and a local population of just 100 people. Come to Asu Camp to experience rural Indonesia, empty lineups with island perfection surf, and perfectly warm equatorial water.
There are no ATMs, pharmacies, or mini-markets on Asu. Please bring any personal effects that you think you might need for the duration of your trip.

Your stay at Asu Camp includes three delicious meals a day of Indo and western variety, plus plenty of fresh fruit, juice, snacks, water, coffee, and tea.

Please book your flight to arrive at Kualanamu Airport (KNO), Medan. Get a connecting flight to Gunung Sitoli, Nias Airport.
Their car and driver will meet you at the Nias airport and take you 2.5 hours across Nias to the western port of Sirombu. The speedboat will then meet you in the harbor and take you for the 30 minute crossing to Asu Island.
Arrive the pier on the eastern side of Asu and disembark from the speedboat. Enjoy the 1 kilometer walk through the coconut palm jungles to the point at Asu and your accommodations at Asu Camp.
