You will be staying in a double room or a dorm-style room. The double rooms can either be a private or a shared room which overlooks the sea. The dorm-style rooms can load four to five people. There are free Wi-Fi and house towels provided for use. You can also use the facilities of the hostel, like common areas, books, and board games. The hostel also facilitates a shared kitchen and a communal oasis like a roof terrace with chill out area, a large dining table, barbecue area, and a beautiful mountain and sea view.

What does a typical day at Amayour look like?

  • 07:30 - Wake up
  • 09:00 - Indulge in a filling Moroccan breakfast
  • 11:00 - Put on your wetsuit and get ready to surf!
  • 11:30 - Arrive at 1 of 25 world class surf spots located locally
  • 14:00 - Grab a well-deserved lunch from local restaurants or street-food vendors
  • 16:00 - Put your feet up and relax on our rooftop terrace...or go surfing again!
  • 18:00 - Take a stroll or enjoy the glorious Moroccan sunset
  • 20:00 - Enjoy dinner with new-found friends

Location

The retreat takes place in the Amayour Surf Hostel in Taghazout, Morocco. This hostel is a boutique home on the south coast of Morocco, just a few minutes from the world class surf break panorama point. Enjoy its views with unique and impressive panoramic vista from anchor point right across the bay, all the way to devils’ rock. Taghazout is a small fishing village in southwest Morocco, so expect to see and smell the ocean's natural fragrance everywhere, even up to your plate.

Food

During the camp, you will be served seven breakfasts on the terrace. Enjoy also a fabulous dinner all days except on Sunday, where you are highly encouraged to go out and try the food at the village. Three course dinners are served along with the famous and epic banquet breakfast. All meals will be fresh and locally sourced and produced food.

Breakfast

Big breakfast will be the omelette, pancakes, freshly baked bread, amalou, confitures, mint tea, coffee, and freshly squeezed juice. Your light breakfast will be mint tea or coffee, fresh bread or pancakes, amalou, and jam.

Beach lunch

The beach lunch will be provided during the days that you are out surfing with the team.

Dinner

The best tagine in the village our fresh and wild modern Morrocan menu, locally sourced fresh with modern twists.

  • Guided trip to the souks in Agadir or Aourir
  • Horse riding on the mountains or the beach
  • Private or group rooftop yoga sessions (50 EUR)

How to get there

Recommended Airports

Arrival by plane

Please book your flight to arrive at Agadir-Al Massira Airport (AGA), Essaouira-Mogador Airport (ESU), or Marrakesh Menara Airport (RAK). Transfer from and to these airports is included. Amayour Surf will pick you up from the airport. Please note that transfers between 12 a.m. and 6 a.m. have a 10 EUR surcharge.

Arrival by taxi

You can take a taxi from the aforementioned airports. If you do, you will most probably be dropped off at the square, and Amayour Surf is located just behind that. Find Anchor Point surf shop on the square as they can assist in bringing you right to the hostel's front door.
