First discovered as a surfing paradise by Jimi Hendrix in the '70, the Moroccan coastline is a true surfing destination now. With a beautiful long stretched coastline and a longer summer than any other Mediterranean place, Morocco is a great place to surf from December to the beginning of March. The most popular places to surf in Morocco are Taghazout and Agadir. On a surf camp in Morocco, you can learn how to surf or find waves suitable for intermediate and advanced surfers - it's great for anyone! Get rid of muscle aches in a traditional Moroccan hammam, and with a cup of fresh mint tea after surfing.
With a coastline of 1,835 kilometers long, it’s a matter of being at the right place at the right time. The fairly cold winters and hot summers, and the cool breeze off the Atlantic and the Mediterranean Sea on the coast, make Morocco a great surf country during most months of the year. The best months to surf in Morocco, anywhere along the coastline, are September and October with their first winter swells and absence of wind. It’s best to avoid surfing in Morocco at the end of March and in April as there is a constant shore wind and lots of rain. In the winter months, the area around Taghazout and Agadir is known for its good surfing conditions between December to the beginning of March. In the summer months, travel northwards to the area Oualidia, Casablanca, and to the north of Rabat for better surf conditions.
