At Aljezur Westcoast Surf, they pride themselves in offering flexible, tailor-made, and most importantly, fun surfing lessons for all ages and abilities. Led by Hugo Nanitas and his team who are International Surfing Association (ISA) and Portuguese Surfing Federation (PSF) certified teachers, you will discover the joys of surfing in the unique waters of the Alentajo coastline, offering an abundance of waves to catch for every surfing ability.
The Aljezur Westcoast Surf camp is situated in Vale da Telha, Aljezur, close to local bars and restaurants; but most importantly they are located within close proximity to the stunning natural surfing beaches of Arrifana and Amoreira.
The modern accommodation is within a large villa providing comfortable sleeping areas for up to 16 people. The villa boasts a large communal living and dining area for socializing and sharing surf experiences, fully equipped kitchen, private showers, and unique to them - a sauna! At night, you can chill out in the outdoor barbecue area, gazing up to the stars, and reeling in your days success on the surf!
The Aljezur Westcoast Surf is a great choice for both beginners, who require close tuition in the water, and those who are more experienced, looking to refine or evolve their technical abilities. You will also find that they are fully equipped with all the surfing equipment you could require for a good days surf, so no need to transport surf boards and wet suits. Of course, Ajezur Westcoast Surf understand some of you will have a close connection to your own board, so feel free to bring it along if you wish.
Their surf lessons, like the freedom of a wave, allow for you to choose where, when, and how long you engage in this thrilling activity with them, providing you with the freedom to tailor-make your very own surfing lesson. No rigid classroom tuition; it's just not the surfing way!
The town of Aljezur is situated on the N120 north of Lagos in a green fertile valley where sweet potatoes grow and forms part of the staple diet. The town is made up of two halves, the oldest dating back to the 10th century. There are many archaeological sites to see, the largest being a Moorish castle which stands high on a hill over looking Aljezur. Over the river, stands the new town established in the 18th century following an out break of malaria.
Today, Aljezur is a busy town which welcomes visitors to see its history with many restaurants and cafes, and a program of outdoor entertainment through out the summer period.
The beach lies in an area of outstanding natural beauty called the Vicentine Coast Natural Park and within the Municipality of Aljezur on the western seaboard of the Algarve. There is approximately 500 meters of golden fine sand which is backed by tall cliffs. This is a very popular beach for surfing and body boarding and is accessed by a winding road from the village of Arrifana and was designated a blue flag beach in 2012.
To the north of the beach is a small fishing harbor. During the summer, the beach is patrolled by lifeguards, and in the village of Arrifana, there is a small selection of bars and restaurants.

During the summer, the beach is patrolled by lifeguards and is popular with surfers of all abilities. The beach is serviced by several restaurants and a first aid post n the summer. There is an excellent access via a wooden walk way.
