Wakeboarding is definitely not ordinary! Join your hosts in Portugal and ride on a 2.0 cable, learn how to wakeboard, take control of your board, or nail your latest moves at the awesome cable park Lagos. This wakeboarding camp is your opportunity to energize and relax with free yoga sessions, varied water sport activities, and a variety of amenities close by town with restaurants and fun nightlife.
During this camp, you will stay in a dorm at the Kite House Lagos. Other room options are available, such as double rooms, bungalows, and apartments. The house features a pool, a barbecue area, a big garden with trampolines, and outside multi-sport courts. In the Barraka Bar, you can have a cold beer or cocktail while having a complimentary Wi-Fi connection, watch television, and play table pool or backgammon. The new Kite House is not a wild party house, but you are still only minutes away from the night action in the center of Lagos with all the pubs, clubs, restaurants, and street life.
The camp house has double rooms and dorm rooms consisting of six to seven beds. Right in front of the pool, the camp also owns bungalows with private entrances, lounges, bathrooms, and separate bedrooms. This is a perfect place for families and guests looking for privacy.
This wakeboarding camp comes with five sets (20 minutes per ride) of wakeboarding in the cable park with instructions, including one free yoga session. All needed equipment and transfers will also be provided. The cable park is the best place to learn and practice air tricks. The carrier is supported by two vertically parallel cables, allowing for greater tension and a smooth pull.
The rider's rope length can be changed very quickly meaning you can use a short line to learn new air tricks. Unlike full-size cables, you can take advantage of the 180-degree turns and learn new tricks on the corner. There is almost an infinite amount of tricks to learn on a system 2.0. The best thing is that when you crash it picks you straight back up and within a few seconds you can try the trick again.
If you are trying wakeboarding for the first time it is suggested to practice at the cable park. The 2.0 system is more forgiving and less intimidating. On the 2.0 system, the handle will come back to you after you fall (no standing in line or swimming back to the dock) allowing you to be back up on the board in seconds, the water is perfectly flat and the system controller will adjust the speed according to your level and riding position. This is the best way to learn to wakeboard hands down. System 2.0 can get any beginner up and riding within a matter of minutes.
It is also the safest way to learn to wakeboard with accurate speed control and constant supervision. With the high pull, one-on-one instruction, and perfect speed control by the operator, you cannot fail to get up. Thanks to the continuous ride of the 2.0, you can hit the same feature every 20 seconds! This has unbeatable learning potential over boats, jet skis, or full cable tows. And if you fall in, it picks you straight back up with no delay. It is quite simply the best tow for hitting features.
Note: Always action guaranteed! If conditions are not right for one watersport, Algarve Watersport will always offer an option.
This camp will take place at The New Kitehouse in Lagos, Portugal. The house is located in a quiet area of Lagos, above the famous Meia Praia Beach. From the terrace, you can even see the ocean. The beach, the town, and the wakeboarding boat in the Marina can be reached by a short walk. The cable park is located close to the camphouse in Lagos. It has a pair of 2.0 cable systems perfect for learning how to wakeboard and learning board control for kiteboarding. From the camp, you can reach about 20 different surf spots within 30 minutes' drive. The location of the surf camp is 75 minutes from Faro Airport (FAO).

Many professional water women and men like Kelly Slater (nine times surf champion), Kristine Boese, (nine times kiteboarding champion), and Larid Hamilton (a big wave surf legend) have found yoga and Pilates to be one of the key preparation tools for their watersport careers.
By practicing yoga and Pilates, you can improve core strength, flexibility, agility, balance, lung capacity, concentration, and calmness in challenging wave situations. Yoga and Pilates also help to prevent your body from getting hurt and it shortens the recovering time between the sessions.
You will be shown some of the great trails along the wild south coast overlooking the ocean or through the rural backcountry of the western Algarve. Take a tour across the lagoon between Lagos and Alvor with a visit to the lovely fishing village of Alvor and some stops on the little islands on the way. Paddling on the flat water is highly enjoyable, moreover, picturesque sights make this trip an experience not to be missed, even for families and beginners.
Portugal and especially the Western Algarve offer some of the best surf spots in Europe. With numerous beaches and wind-protected bays, the warm climate and the consistent Atlantic swells make it a perfect all-year surfing destination. The summer is great for beginners and intermediate surfers because the waves are not as powerful.
